Park laps, side hits and spins off every roller are what the Fischer Nightstick Team was built for. This junior twin tip uses a fiberglass-reinforced sidewall construction with Fischer's Freeski Rocker in the tip and tail, giving it a balanced, forgiving feel that works just as well riding switch as forward. Kids get a durable, playful ski that makes learning tricks easier and keeps them smiling on groomers between park runs.
Why we like it:
It skis the same backward as forward, which is exactly what a young freestyler needs when they're learning to land switch. Fischer also made it tough, with a robust build that shrugs off rails, boxes and the occasional unplanned trip into the trees.
Who it's for:
Junior and teen skiers who spend most of their day in the terrain park or hunting for jumps around the mountain. It's sized for stronger kids and smaller teens who are past the beginner stage and ready for a real freestyle ski, and it works well as a do-it-all ski for young skiers with a playful style.
Highlights:
Freeski Rocker is the foundation here: Fischer adds rise to both the tip and tail, with camber underfoot for grip, so the Nightstick Team pivots easily, presses well and doesn't catch an edge when a landing is a little sideways. Fiber Tech fiberglass reinforcement gives the ski its pop and consistency, and full sidewall construction adds edge hold and impact resistance compared with a cap build. A 96mm waist between a 125mm tip and 118mm tail, plus a 15 meter radius at 153cm, makes a shape that's wide enough for soft snow while still turning easily on groomers. Each ski weighs about 1400 grams at 153cm, which keeps spins quick and swing weight manageable for smaller riders. The base is extruded, so it's easy to repair after a season of rails and boxes.
Things to consider:
The extruded base is easy to fix but won't glide or hold wax like a sintered base. Kids who mostly want to carve groomers or ski gates will be better served by a more directional junior ski, and smaller children starting out in the park may find the Nightstick Jr a better size fit.
Fit & sizing considerations:
The Nightstick Team sizes true to length; the twin tip and rocker make it ski a touch shorter than its tape measurement. Choose a longer size for bigger, stronger kids who hit larger jumps, or go shorter for easier spins and tighter terrain.
