2027 Fischer Speedpro 50 Skate Skiswith Fischer RC3 Skate Boots and Poles

Skate skiing is the faster, more athletic side of cross-country, where you push off the edges of the skis in a V pattern rather than striding inside a set track, and the Fischer Speedpro 50 Skate is built for skiers ready to jump in with two feet. A hollowed core keeps swing weight low so the legs last through longer sessions, and a race-grade base finish glides noticeably better than what sits at the bottom of the range. It's a performance ski without the price or the unforgiving stiffness of a full race model, which makes it a smart step up for a skater who has caught the bug. [boot PKG overview]

Who it's for:

Recreational and intermediate skaters who want something livelier than a rental for weekend trail miles and the occasional citizen race. It suits skiers building endurance on groomed trails who value comfort and durability over top end speed.

Things to consider:

The flex is tuned to be usable rather than fast, so a strong, heavy skater will load it through and want something with more backbone, like the Aerolite range. It's also skate-specific, which means it needs skate grooming and will not work in a classic track.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Pick the length off Fischer's weight chart; there's no height-based shortcut on a skate ski. Sizing on plan matters here because the camber is what lifts the ski during the glide phase, and a ski that's too soft for the skier underneath it never gets fully off the snow. [boot sizing specifics]
