2027 Nordica Multigara DC Skis W/ Comp 13 Bindings
SKU 0A662300A direct descendant of Nordica's World Cup race program, the Nordica Dobermann Multigara DC is a short-radius carving ski for experts who want race-derived precision under their feet on every turn of every run. The build is unapologetically aggressive, with a Double Core construction that sandwiches an elastomer Pulse Core between two wood layers and adds two sheets of titanal for a serious damping and edge-grip combination. It's a ski that carves with race-bred authority and stays glued to the snow even when groomers turn rough.
Why we like it:
Double Core is the headline. By splitting the wood core into two layers and embedding a Pulse Core elastomer between them, Nordica has built a ski that handles vibration in a way most carving skis just can't. You feel the difference on cut-up afternoon snow: where another race-derived carver would start to skip and chatter, the Multigara DC stays connected and keeps the line you set.
Who it's for:
Expert carvers and aspiring frontside racers. If you live for shaping turns on groomers, chase first chair to find the cleanest corduroy, and have the technique to drive a stiff, energetic platform, this is the ski. Advanced intermediates working on their carving will find more ski than they're ready for; the Steadfast 80 inside Nordica's line is a much friendlier on-trail option.
Highlights:
This is one of the most refined carving skis in the Nordica line, and the construction is doing a lot of heavy lifting. The Energy 2 Ti DC layup uses a wood/Pulse Core/wood Double Core sandwich with two 0.4mm titanal sheets above and below. Compared to a conventional dual-titanal carving ski, the Pulse Core elastomer adds a damping element that simply isn't possible with a single wood core, and that's why this thing rides so smoothly even when the snow gets chewed up. Sidecut at the 175 reads 121-70-101 with a 16-meter turn radius, which is on the short side and gives the ski an aggressive slalom-influenced personality at lower speeds while still allowing for cleaner, longer GS-style arcs when the speed climbs. The Multi-Radius Sidecut blends slalom geometry in the tips and tails with GS geometry in the body, which is what makes the ski feel comfortable across a range of turn shapes. Mounted on the FDT Race Plate Pro N system with Comp 13 FDT bindings, the leverage and edge response are direct enough that the smallest input from your boot translates to immediate edge engagement.
Things to consider:
This is a one-trick pony, and that trick is carving. Wider snow conditions, soft snow, bumps, trees, the Multigara DC isn't designed for any of those, and it shows. The other thing to know is that you really do have to drive this ski. If you're not committing to your turns, the energy and rebound that make it special will work against you.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Sizes true to length. Stick with what you usually carve on. If you're between sizes, drop down for tighter, more energetic short-radius turns; size up if you spend more time at higher speeds and prefer drawn-out arcs.
