DESCRIPTION

Young riders with skills outgrowing the smallest beginner boards but not yet ready for an adult deck yet land squarely in the Rossignol Alias zone. This is a true-twin freestyle board built with the same construction philosophy as the adult Ampage, just scaled and softened for lighter weights. The flex is soft, the profile leans on rocker for catch-free riding, and the blunted tips give a slightly bigger platform for buttering and ollies as the rider works toward park progression.

Why we like it:

AmpTek Auto-Turn combines slight camber between the inserts for real edge grip with higher tip-and-tail rocker for forgiveness, an unusual combination at this price for kids' boards, and the twin shape rewards switch riding as the rider learns it.

Who it's for:

Riders roughly 10 to 15 years old, beginner-plus through confirmed, who are getting comfortable with linked turns and ready to start playing in the park. The catch-free profile keeps mistakes forgiving while the small camber pocket lets the rider start feeling rebound.

Highlights:

The shape leads the conversation here, this is a symmetric true twin, inserts mount centered, and blunted tips give so the Alias rides the same direction as the rider's stance. Profile is AmpTek Auto-Turn, which preserves a small camber pocket between the inserts for stability and edge grip while running rocker at the tip and tail for catch-free riding. Sidecut is a single-radius cut from 6.4m to 6.9m through the size run, no RadCut or Serrated Edges, this is the size below the Jibfluence in the Rossignol kids range. Core is Wood 4515 (thicker than the Scan's 3510 to support a slightly larger rider), with fiberglass laminates, Extruded 4400 base, and Rossitop 3 topsheet. Flex sits at a soft 3/10.

Things to consider:

An extruded base trades top-end speed for affordability, and the lack of RadCut or Serrated Edges means the Alias doesn't have the firm-snow grip tech that the Jibfluence offers one tier up. Riders ready for park-specific performance should look at the Jibfluence as the next step. The 3/10 flex is meant for lighter weights, stronger or older kids will start to overpower it.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Standard kids sizing recommendations apply. The Alias runs 125/130/135/140/145, so a 10-year-old typically sits around the 130-135, and a young teen around the 140-145. Drop a length if the rider is focused on park and playfulness, bump up if general riding and stability matter more.
