2027 Salomon Assassin Snowboard
The 2027 Salomon Assassin with Ride C-2 Bindings is a quiver-killer setup that has earned its name over multiple generations. It fuses freestyle response with enough powder shape to handle a deep day without flinching, built on a directional twin with a hybrid camber profile, a medium-stiff flex, and a longer nose and tail that give it real legs in soft snow. The Assassin lives in the all-terrain freestyle space, comfortable in the park, on the trail, or in the trees. We paired the board with the C-2 bindings because these well-rounded all-mountain bindings perform well in most conditions or terrain. A moderate flex makes them stiff enough to charge on groomers but not too demanding that you can’t take them in the park. Built with durable material to last season after season making them a great choice to pair with the board.
Why we like it:
Carbon Stringers and Bamboo Rods through the Popster core give it a snappy, energetic response you feel on every pop and transition. The Quadralizer sidecut also lets you blend turn shapes mid-arc, which is part of why this board has stayed relevant across so many seasons.
Who it's for:
Advanced and expert riders who want one board for everything. It handles park laps, side hits, all-mountain freeride lines, and powder days with a freestyle attitude that rewards an active, athletic riding style. It is a strong pick for riders who do not want to think about which board to grab on a given day.
Highlights:
The directional twin shape keeps the platform symmetrical underfoot while giving the nose and tail a little extra length and shape for soft-snow performance. Rock Out Camber pairs camber through the inserts with rocker toward the contact points and flat through the middle, blending lift and edge hold in the same profile. The core is a Popster wood core with Bamboo Rods, Carbon Stringers, and BIAX HD Fiberglass, with Fiberglass Dampers tuning out chatter at speed. The Quadralizer sidecut delivers multiple radii along the edge, Royal Rubber Rails reinforce the sidewalls, and the Sintered EG base stays fast and durable when waxed regularly. The composite chassis provides durability without excessive weight, while Ride’s cored ankle straps hug the boot securely without pinching. The footbed is canted to reduce fatigue and promote better stance alignment.
Things to consider:
It is a real all-terrain board, so riders who spend most of their time in the park may find it stiffer than a dedicated freestyle deck. Beginners and progressing intermediates will also find it demanding, so it is worth matching the board to the rider's actual ability level.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Stick with what you usually ride, bumping up a size for more stability and float on bigger mountain days or dropping down for tighter, more freestyle-oriented riding. The wide variants handle bigger feet and higher edge angles without toe or heel drag.
