DESCRIPTION

If you're shopping for your first real upgrade from a rental-tier setup, the Salomon Rhythm should be on your short list. This is Salomon's value-tier all-mountain binding, built around an asymmetrical design and loaded with features that usually live on more expensive models. Flex is on the softer side of medium, which makes the Rhythm forgiving when you're learning new things and supportive enough to grow with you. The whole package is built to make adjustments easy on the chair and stay comfortable through a full day on the hill.

Why we like it:

The asymmetric design and HB Filter on the highback deliver more board feel than most bindings in this price range. A lifetime warranty on the baseplate is the kind of detail you don't usually see at this tier.

Who it's for:

Beginner and progressing intermediate riders who want a binding that grows with them as their skills develop. The softer flex and asymmetric design make it forgiving for newer riders while still offering enough response for confident intermediates. It's also a strong pick for occasional riders or guest setups where comfort and ease-of-use matter more than top-end performance.

Highlights:

Construction starts with the Rhythm Baseplate, a 30 percent fiberglass nylon composite that runs lighter than the premium Shadow Fit chassis while still carrying the toolless toe ramp, the IMS-cushioned Universal Disc, and Unite Disc compatibility for Burton Channel boards. The Rhythm Highback has an HB Filter that softens vibration transmission and uses the 12 degree pre-rotated shape that lines you up over the edge without manual reset. Straps are the Supreme Lite ankle and Supreme Lite toe, both designed for all-day comfort and toolfree adjustability via MicroMax. Underfoot, the canted footbed plus Full EVA Rear Pad and EVA Front Pad take the edge off chatter on firm groomers. The ratchets are MP Ratchet with a composite buckle lever, and the whole package carries a lifetime warranty on the baseplate.

Things to consider:

The composite buckle lever is the most visible cost trade vs. the aluminum hardware on premium Salomon bindings. The Rhythm tops out before genuinely aggressive all-mountain riding, where the Hologram or Highlander earns their price tags. As a step-up from rental tier or a strong guest binding for second pairs, though, the Rhythm punches above its weight.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Rhythm runs in three sizes (S, M, L) matching the standard Salomon binding fit chart, with Medium covering the broad middle of the adult range and Large taking over from men's 10.5 onward. Universal Disc mounts on Burton Channel and 2x4 / 4x4 patterns, so it'll bolt up to nearly any modern board.
