To prevent chafing while working hard the back body seam wraps to front, their is a raglan sleeve construction, and flatlock seaming designed to help increase comfort and minimize chafing. Fit and Sizing:

A slim fit intended to follow the contours of the body we will also use this as a lightweight midlayer, if you plan on doing the same, size up.

Bottom Line:

A comfortable heavy baselayer made from Merino wool we use the Smartwool Women's Classic Thermal Merino Base Layer 1/4 Zip as a light midlayer sweater when conditions demand, so we will size up due to the body skimming slim fit of the conventional sizing.
