2018 Nordica Enforcer 110 Skis

The brand new Enforcer 110 from Nordica takes the success of the Enforcer 100 and their now outdated Patron powder ski and combines it into a brand new ski. This Enforcer 110 is very much a powder ski with its 110 mm waist width, abundant tip and tail rocker, and blunt nose profile. Unlike the Patron, however, it borrows some technology from the proven Enforcer series like their Energy 2 Titanium construction that uses two sheets of metal. The difference here is the Enforcer 110 uses Balsa in its wood core which makes the ski lighter overall and a little bit softer flexing than the Enforcer 100 and 93. The turn radii match the Enforcer series (15.5 m at 169 cm, 16.5 at 177 cm, etc.). These turn radii are relatively short, especially for a ski this wide with two sheets of metal and it suggests that the Enforcer 110 will be both maneuverable and burly, but let’s find out what our testers thought.

Brooks Curran said he felt “instantly comfortable with the Enforcer 110 underfoot.” Brooks gave the Enforcer 110 5 out of 5 for quickness, playfulness, and overall impression. In fact, he didn’t really give it any low scores at all with every category receiving at least a 4. Brooks described it as “quick, playful, and versatile.” Brooks was skiing the 191 cm length, which he seemed to really enjoy. The Enforcer 110 is also available as short as 169 cm (just like the 100 and 93). Brooks commented that “the length seemed to make it hold up at high speeds.” Brooks did actually comment that the 191 cm length felt shorter than that, so don’t be afraid to size up a little bit if you think you’re between sizes. Brooks really was a big fan of the Enforcer 110, commenting that “it really just let me do whatever I wanted, any turn shape at just about any speed.” He even thought it “carved impressively well once up on edge.”

Steve Sulin also skied the 191 cm and really enjoyed the Enforcer 110, although his reactions were slightly different than Brooks’. Steve’s scores focused more on the stability and flotation of the Enforcer 110 rather than its maneuverability and quickness. He did, however, comment that it feels “quick edge to edge for a 110 cm ski,” and that he felt like he could “turn on a dime.” Steve really thought the metal laminates were a great addition to this ski. “I love the metal. It’s stiff, but easy to ski. Stable at high speeds.” While we know it’s going to be a phenomenal powder ski, Steve also thought it did great in crud snow. Add in the idea that Brooks found it to carve pretty well and the Enforcer 110 is starting to show its colors as an all mountain ski in addition to a powder slayer.

While we understand that there will probably be some Patron-lovers that are disappointed to see that ski go away, the new Enforcer 110 is a relatively familiar sight. The shape is largely derived from the Patron, but tweaked and updated with some Enforcer influence both in design and construction. Considering the success and popularity of the Enforcer 100 and 93 we expect the 110 to follow in the same footsteps. There is also an Enforcer Pro, which takes the 110 to the next level. The Pro is only available in a 191 cm length and is 5 mm wider than the Enforcer 110. We think most skiers are going to find the 110 is plenty of ski for their powder missions.
