They’re definitely not as fast as most of the classic skis I’ve tested, but what’s nice is you get a lot of forgiveness and a ton of grip from the kick zone. Any ability level can ski these, you don’t need to have really good technique. You can shuffle along on them and they’re perfectly content, but you can also kick and glide and generate some speed, which I think is really valuable for a new skier or someone working on their technique. In other words, you can take a break on them and you’re not going to be slipping backwards.” Some classic skis, as Jeff alludes to, require really precise technique in order to achieve the necessary grip for the uphills. The Fibre Crown has a long, forgiving scale pattern, which is far more forgiving for recreational skiers.

Jeff also spoke to all the different places you could use the Fibre Crown. “Growing up, my family was constantly going XC skiing in all sorts of different places.
