The Salomon Snowscape 7 is an affordable, straight-forward XC ski that’s perfect for beginners and recreational skiers, but could also be enjoyed by more experienced intermediates as well. Salomon designs these skis to be highly versatile. Narrow enough to use in groomed classic tracks, but also grippy and versatile enough to take them off trail.
Salomon’s Densolite 1000 core construction provides a lightweight, yet supportive feel, and importantly, keeps the price down as well. The classic fish scale grip system is simple, but proven to be effective both on and off trail. They have a softer flex pattern than more advanced or more race-oriented XC skis, which will really help for beginner skiers and those that aren’t focus on speed. It gives them a very forgiving feel, and also allows for good performance at any speed. You don’t need to be flying around the touring center to enjoy them, the Snowscape 7 is fun to ski even when you’re just shuffling along.

Jeff Neagle had the opportunity to test the Snowscape 7 and found them to be fun, intuitive skis. “I think this is a great ski for a beginner or anyone who’s relatively new to the sport. They’re super forgiving and easy to ski, but you could also use them to take your skiing to the next level. I also think it’s valuable for a new XC skier to have something they can use in groomed tracks as well as just right in their backyard. Skiing is supposed to be fun, and the Snowscape 7 is a good reminder of that, it’s just fun to ski no matter where you take it!”
Simple, but valuable feedback from Jeff. There aren’t a lot of fancy bells and whistles to describe when it comes to the Snowscape 7. It’s a simple ski, but sometimes the most simple ski is the best ski. It’s easy, it’s intuitive for a beginner, and it will put a smile on a lot of skier’s faces this winter, and for many winters to come!
