With a bit of a tweener attitude to go along with a fun-loving personality, the K2 Reckoner 92 is a fantastic choice for beginners all the way through expert skiers who are looking to maximize playfulness and fun while keeping the ski energetic and responsive. With a fairly simple construction, these skis are easy to get on edge and they have a tremendous amount of energy thanks to the positive camber that’s found underfoot. When a ski has a relatively light and straight-forward build, the companies have to include a bit more in the camber profile to really get the ski to sing. Even with the additional tip and tail rocker profile, the skis are bouncy and energetic underfoot. Available in sizes ranging from 149 to 179 cm breaking on the 10’s, these skis have a shorter application for tweener skiers and those that fall in between junior and adult skis. All the way up to the 179, skiers of various abilities will like the composure and quickness of the skis, and with a 92 mm waist width underfoot, you can really take these all over the mountain with little to no limitations. Great in the bumps and trees, as well as in the park and pipe, the Reckoner 92 brings a whole new generation into the Reckoner line—it's almost like they’re trying to hook them young to keep them coming back to buy more skis or something like that.

On the almost comically short 169, Josh Wolfgang was running out of “T’s” when he noted that it felt “Shorttttttt.” and even in the 179, he might have desired a few extra cm’s to go along with the lighter build. But again, we see some elements of surprise when it comes to these skis, and a lot of skis like it. Unsurprising scores of 5 out of 5 were given for quickness, maneuverability, and playfulness, and these go right along with what this ski is designed to do. On the slightly more surprising side of the spectrum, Josh also gave the ski 4’s for versatility and overall impression, showing a well-rounded ski. “Honestly for a $299 cap construction ski that was too short for me...this thing was a blast. Feels powerful for the price and would be super versatile for the right person.” The value is a big thing when it comes to these skis, as they do have the ability to be that more inexpensive option for the tweener, as well as being a true all-mountain ski for an advanced adult skier looking for a bit more flex and play to the ski.

Also on the 169, Jake Whitlock notes that it’s obviously “Intended for tweens so the ski was a little short but I imagine for younger skiers the ski would be true to size.” Again, it’s a bit on the funny side to see these grown men skiing on these shorter tween skis, but it is equally impressive that they still have good feedback and impressions on these skis. Jake gave his high scores of 4 out of 5 for playfulness, forgiveness, quickness, and maneuverability. Low scores of 2 were given for stability, torsional stiffness, and edge hold, showing that ultimately, the ski won’t stand up to hard charging, but is still a whole lot of fun for most skiers in most conditions and terrain. “This would be a great all mountain/freestyle ski for young teens. The ski was very playful especially in the tip and the tail. Very low swing weight so great for throwing rotations. Great ski for skiers of all levels.” The park, bumps, and trees are all in play on this ski, so it makes a lot of sense to have the energy of the ski shine through.

From value-based skiers looking for fun to top-tier tweeners looking to enter some competitions, the K2 Reckoner 92 has a ton of versatility and energy. It will neither break the bank nor tire your legs out. These easy-to-use skis rank really high on the fun-charts, making it a total blast to use them as all-mountain or freestyle-specific skis no matter who you are or how you ski.
