DESCRIPTION

Returning for 2027, the Salomon Stance Pro 90 builds on the success of the Stance family with a powerful, directional shape that delivers confident edge grip, smooth stability, and a damp ride across a variety of snow conditions. Sitting right in the all-mountain sweet spot at 90 mm underfoot, this ski is tailored for advanced skiers who spend their days seeking clean carves on groomers, but want a versatile enough platform to handle off-piste terrain and mixed conditions without hesitation.

Why we like it:

This ski does exactly what a 90 mm underfoot all-mountain ski should do: rail turns on firm snow, stay composed in chop, and respond predictably when pushed hard. The dual metal and karuba/poplar core combo hits that ideal blend of strength, energy, and feel.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert skiers who want a directional all-mountain ski that prioritizes edge grip and power. Whether you're lapping groomers at high speed, darting through late-day crud, or exploring moderate off-piste terrain, the Stance Pro 90 is designed to keep up without flinching. Especially well-suited to East Coast skiers looking for one ski to do it all.

Highlights:

The Stance Pro 90 utilizes a Karuba and Poplar full wood core for strength and responsiveness, paired with Salomon’s Twin Frame 2 construction and Double Ti laminates to maximize stability and edge hold. The full camber underfoot delivers rebound and control, while tip and tail rocker (15% front, 12% rear) add just enough forgiveness for broken snow or tight terrain. At 90 mm underfoot with turn radii ranging from 17–19 meters depending on length, this ski offers an energetic yet planted ride that rewards powerful skiing and clean technique.

Things to consider:

While the Stance Pro 90 is more approachable than a true race ski, it still requires a certain level of input. Skiers who prefer a looser, more playful feel—or who prioritize low-speed maneuverability—may want to explore something with less metal and a more pronounced rocker profile.

Fit & sizing considerations:

This ski skis true to size. For quicker handling and faster transitions, sizing down a few centimeters is a good option. For maximum edge grip and top-end composure, stick to your standard all-mountain length.

Thoughts
While my overall impression was a little underwhelmed this did feel fairly versatile. It’s possible that it’s trying to do too many things. I would take this gladly down some soft/loose playful areas and it would be fine for groomers but not a bulletproof day.
Perhaps some more rigidity, it is maybe stuck in between a narrower ski and awider, more playful, ski and isn’t quite hitting the mark.
Overal Impression
I was excited to test this ski, and based on weight, I expected it to be more playful than it was. I felt a bit of not being as locked into turns, some instability and overall just underwhelmed.
