Each year our testers get more seasoned, more efficient, and more enthusiastic about participating in our three-day event in March. We are more than thankful to them and the “work” they put in during this time. Thier input and feedback are invaluable to us as a company, and hopefully to you as an audience member. They take their “job” very seriously and try as honestly as possible to put a character to a ski. We could not do this ski test without them, so thanks are due to our amazing testing team!
My skiing and riding style falls right at the cross roads of athletic and leisure
Semipro
Chill
Passive agressive
x-racer who has toned it back
Just having fun out here but always chasing that perfect bump line.
Ex racer
Ex racer/ retired FWT athlete
Racer nerd turned PSIA instructor nerd- fast, edgy, technically accurate.
Fun
Smooth and in control
Fast carving
Casual groomer
tight powerful turns and sneaky playful in the woods
A bit more rigid than I used to be but still trying to be dynamic, smooth, and fluid with varying degrees of success. Skis on the snow, these days.
Playful
I'd say I'm an advanced-ish skier with a racing background but been skiing quite conservatively over the last few years. Slowly getting back into a more aggressive riding style -- trying to hit bigger lines and hit them smooth, going outside of my comfort zone but not beyond my limits!
Aggressive and playful
Engaged and active, but not particularly aggressive. I like to find the flow of terrain+ski and let that lead me; I rarely find the need to go faster than my skis want to go - nor do I typically find the need for my skis to leave the ground.
Easy going
Carving
Any trail, Any time with a smile on my face
I like to mix it up between short turns and long carves on steep groomers.
Having fun where ever I am on the mountain
Fast and smooth
Calculated, Flowy, Smooth, Fast, & Fun.
Fast and controlled
Technically accurate and smooth
Agressive, fast, lots of clean turns
Ex ski racer/ski coach learning to have fun again
Playful and controlled
Aggressive
I love trying to make the most of the slopes, making lots of GS turns when the conditions are there, or milking it on the edges of the trails if need be. I hit every side hit I can and will usually end my runs in the park, working on basic tricks, nothing too fancy. I do a little bit of everything, but I like a ski that is stable when carving at speed, while still playful enough to take in the woods (tip+tail rocker with some camber))
Aggressive carver, making mostly GS style turns. I like to take longer, more patient turns. When it is busy I ski more playful terrain off piste, so I like a ski that can do it all.
Moderately aggressive female skier from an on-again-off-again racing background, enjoys trying to make pretty turns no matter what conditions or terrain the ice coast throws at her, isn't always successful.
Freeride, fun!
Ex racer who got cautious
Former racer trying to get more relaxed in the woods
Fast and fun with no big airs

I’m a clean skier, good form, lots of lessons (long ago).
Looking to link together nice turns and be quick on my feet.
Risk averse since having kiddos & mostly skiing on spruce w my kid these days!

Versatile. I ski fast and in control, am comfortable in steep and technical terrain, tree skiing, and variable conditions. With a racing foundation, I still love carving on hard pack/cord
Carver
Carver
Versatile, sometimes fast and loose, other times precise and calculated
Playful & Energetic
Traditional with some playful & woods skiing.
“Middle age” aggressive
Fast, not blistering. Prefer medium to long turns on most terrain. Intentional but not lightning quick.
Moderately aggressive (used to be much more aggressive and loved bumps too). Like to go fast when conditions allow. Have community racing experience, and was a Friday program instructor.
classic, playful, fun
Able to ski on all terrain, but not too fast.
More of a technical skier on all diffrent terrian.
Fun
Fast, fun, and ready for adventure.
It depends on with whom I'm skiing. Everything from Toll Road to Liftline (slowly) with my wife, to Centerline bumps/woods/any groomer at speed if alone or with other friends. I calibrate to the worst skier so everyone has fun typically
Smooth, flowing, and fast, but calculated to ski another day
Former racer trying to hang responsibly with Jeff

I tend to lean towards two different riding styles. I’m either flowing with the terrain, nice and smooth. Or curving hard and fast top to bottom when slopes are clear of crowds.

I strive to be elegant over fast
Free spirited
Flowing and Kind of Fast with Freestyle/Freeski Influence
Tall and controlled.
i like technical and powder
Free ski/ racer
Love skiing fast on open terrain
Boring. I don't do anything exciting. I just get down making turns. I do like to go fast, but my feet rarely leave the snow.
Aggressive and fun?
Hard charging, but with lots of little breaks. I mostly chase where the snow is good and skiing is fun rather than particular terrain, although I do love a technical line. I am almost never in the park and would never touch a race course.
Fluid, powerful and charging; looking for natural takeoffs on freeride features
flowly and technical
Controlled aggressive
All Mountain/ Freeride
I like carving groomers, ducking into trees, ski touring in the woods. Spring skiing aficionado. Believer of friends on a powder day.
Always having fun
Controlled and Aggressive, side hit glory
Happy to ski any terrain and like to make turns
Was good now cautious
Jason Statham's role as Chev Chelios in the movie "Crank"
Relaxed these days! I ski a lot with my kiddo and tend to be more mellow than when I was younger, with fewer adventures off trail. I also ski alone a lot so am reluctant to adventure much alone.
Technical, powerful with flow and control
Powerful but playful
Aggressive playful/ lay down turns and jump around
Solid technical skills, mixed with a park background. I'm not the sendiest guy on the hill, but I'll take my share of calculated airs. It's all about finding small transitions and controlling speed for me. Rather than chargey, I'd describe myself as surfy. Lots of edge work and turning skis sideways to manage speed. I enjoy working with the flex pattern of a ski as much as the camber/rocker profile or sidecut of it.
Would describe myself as a freecarver (Freeride skier at heart with a love for carving). Any excuse to go drops, cliffs, jumps, spins, etc., I will take. But also very much enjoy pure carving on skis that many would consider far too wide to carve on.
Flowy but aggressive.
Washed up ski racer, who likes to still carve and work on form and ski hard, but relaxed and starting to try new things.
Laid-back
Fast, race-inspired. Love ducking into the woods for some powder shots.
playful charger
fluid, creative and technical
Setting edge

Easy
High velocity, enjoy carving, moguls when not rock hard

Fun
I live for high-speed laps on corduroy, strictly avoiding bumps unless I'm looking for a challenge. Always followed by a well-earned waffle!
Fast and fun? I dunno
Aggressive, angulatory
