2024 Spring Bargain Basement: Over 14 of Our Best Ski Deals
While it’s a little sad to be heading into the tail end of the ski season, the silver lining is we get significant price drops on 2024 skis! That’s right, the brand-new skis you’ve been eying all season have finally been discounted. What sweetens the deal even further is many of these skis don’t change structurally for 2025, just receive new topsheet graphics. Jeff and Bob selected a group of 2024 skis that have recently been discounted on our site, while also checking criteria that we had close to a full size run and decent inventory depth. A coin was flipped, the first pick was awarded to Bob, and our now-favorite draft-format was used to select 14 skis worth highlighting. Some of these skis don’t change for next season, some of them do change, but hold a significant spot in the industry and our hearts. Regardless of the reason, we’re excited to share our 14 picks for this winter’s Bargain Basement feature.
Bob's Round 1 Pick:
2024 Salomon QST 106 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 157, 165, 173, 181, 189 cm | 19 m @ 181 cm | 139 / 106 / 126 mm | 1,980 g @ 181 cm | Flotation, Trees, Versatility |
Overview:
Amazing graphics aside, this is one heckuva ski. There aren’t many 106’s out there that have this type of depth and quality to them. After skiing it in Utah a few seasons ago, after a great snowy stretch here in Stowe, I was pretty sold on this ski. Now that the price has dropped, the appeal and allure are even that much better. Just last week we got to ski them again here in Stowe and it was a refresher in how smooth, solid, stable, and damp these skis are all while being playful and floaty. Amazingly maneuverable in the trees, chargey enough on the groomers, and intuitive for all-day fun, the QST 106 is the template for a modern mid-fat. If you can show me a better ski at 106 underfoot for under $600, I’ll be shocked.

Jeff's Round 1 Pick:
2024 Volkl Revolt 96 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 157, 165, 173, 181 cm | 20 / 17 / 19 m @ 173 cm | 126 / 96 / 117 mm | 1,920 g @ 173 cm | Versatility, Predictability, Smoothness |
Overview:
I had a fantastic time testing the Revolt 96 last season and it was a ski that left a lasting impression on me with its freestyle capabilities, all-mountain versatility, and overall value. You’re saving about $100 with this discounted price over an already low asking price. Simply put, it’s a lot of ski for $359.99. The other fact I can’t ignore is that it was a brand new design for 2024, meaning it likely won’t change at least for a few seasons. Thinking back to how long we had the same Revolt 95, it may be closer to 5 years before we see a replacement for this ski. That means you’re getting an exceptionally current design, even one we’ll continue to see into the future, at an impressively low price. While it’s certainly not a ski for everyone, both from a performance perspective and in regards to the graphics, but it’s a really good ski overall and the $359.99 price caught my eye.

Bob's Round 2 Pick:
2024 Nordica Unleashed 98 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 168, 174, 180, 186 cm | 17.6 m @ 174 cm | 132 / 98 / 121 mm | 1,870 g @ 180 cm | Carving, Smoothness, Grip |
Overview:
I thought Jeff was going to pick this first and when he didn’t I knew I had to have it. Not only does it take away one of his favorites, it’s also one of mine, and a fantastic ski in a vacuum. I’ve always loved a wider twin tip, and by adding their metal to it, they took the carving capabilities to the next level. This is a very useful ski for here at Stowe since we are mainly met with a mix of on-trail and off-piste terrain. When the groomers are good, the Unleashed lights it up. When the woods are in, this ski is maneuverable and floaty. There are some twins in this range that are a bit more fun in the bumps and crud, but not a lot. Now we’re seeing the price tick down to almost $550, and that’s a great deal on a fantastic all-around ski.

Jeff's Round 2 Pick:
2024 Atomic Bent 90 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 157, 166, 175, 184 cm | 19 m @ 175 cm | 119 / 90 / 109 mm | 1,600 g @ 175 cm | Flotation, Moguls, Trees |
Overview:
Maybe picking two twin tips to start is kind of boring, but similar to the Revolt 96, I just find a lot of value in this ski at $439.96. The Bent 90 hits a bigger audience than the Revolt 96 too. Among twin tips in this width, it’s a fantastic all-mountain ski. In fact, its performance in moguls and trees might even surpass its capabilities in the park, but that’s not to say it’s bad in the park, quite the contrary. It’s not as new-new as the Revolt 96, and with the upcoming changes to the Bent 100, it’s easy to assume we’ll see similar changes to the 90 in coming years. That said, those changes are relatively minor overall, so any future updates to the Bent 90 almost definitely won’t be a complete departure from its current performance. To put it concisely, the Bent 90 is just fun to ski. In fact, I would challenge any skier out there to try and take a run on it and not have fun. Not guarantee, but if you can’t have fun on a Bent 90, I’m not sure what to tell you.

Bob's Round 3 Pick:
2024 Blizzard Brahma 88 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 165, 171, 177, 183, 189 cm | 16 m @ 177 cm | 128 / 88 / 110 mm | 2,100 g @ 177 cm | Power, Stability, Edge Grip |
Overview:
Part of me really likes the nostalgia aspect of the soon to be discontinued Brahma 88, and another part of me just really likes the way this thing skis. There’s a reason that a lot of skiers are upset at the replacement of the Brahma, and I totally get it. Before totally writing off the Anomaly 88, malcontents should certainly at least try it—it's amazing. That said, the Brahma still holds the title as the burliest all-mountain ski at 88 mm out there. You could argue about the Kastle MX 88, and I wouldn’t say you’re wrong, but that ski has more of a front side angular shape to it while the Brahma still feels like it has freeride DNA to boost the versatility. Even so, the Brahma’s horsepower is unmatched in this realm, so by both taking it as a romantic pick as well as a sheer performance choice makes a whole lot of sense to me.

Jeff's Round 3 Pick:
2024 Volkl Kendo 88 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 163, 170, 177, 184 cm | 29 / 16 / 25 m @ 179 cm | 129 / 88 / 113 mm | 1,900 g @ 177 cm | Varying Carves, Precision, Power |
Overview:
The Kendo 88 is quite a bit different than my first two picks. It’s more expensive, yes, but it also striked a different level of performance overall. It’s a leader in its category, being one of the strongest and potentially the most precise all mountain ski in the 88-90 mm width range. Carving enthusiasts will love it, and like most Volkl skis, it’s packed full of technology. While it doesn’t change structurally for 2025, the name does change. Wait, what? Really? Yup, Everything is Mantra now. So, while the ski will be the same, 2024 is actually the last year to buy a Kendo. There are a lot of longtime Kendo skiers out there who have developed fondness and trust with this ski, and for good reason. We’re confident Volkl will always make a ski to fill this category, and it will likely always be really good, but it won’t be a Kendo, and there’s something about that that makes me want to buy one.

Bob's Round 4 Pick:
2024 Elan Ripstick 96 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 164, 172, 180, 188 cm | 18 m @ 180 cm | 136 / 96 / 110 mm | 1,650 g @ 180 cm | Quickness, Grip, Ease of Use |
Overview:
Similar to the Brahma, the Ripstick 96 undergoes a pretty total change. I always liked this 2024 iteration of the ski, and while the new one has a lot to offer in terms of light weight performance, this 2024 model has a thicker core profile, and that works a bit better for my larger frame. As a result, I’m taking it and not looking back. This Ripstick 96 in the 188 is one of my favorites of the light mid-90's, mainly due to the use of the carbon tubes. This has been their calling card for a while now, and it makes such a big difference when it comes to energy delivery and responsiveness. While they don’t necessarily land at the top of the “damp” or “stable” category, they’re certainly right up there with the “quick, fun, and agile” crowd. It’s in this realm that this ski is enormously successful. With all that tech, you had to pay a price, but now it is under $600, and this is a great deal.

Jeff's Round 4 Pick:
2024 Enforcer 104 Free Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 165, 172, 179, 186, 191 cm | 17.5 m @ 179 cm | 134.5 / 104 / 123.5mm | 2,250 g @ 186 cm | Stability, Crud Busting, Carving |
Overview:
The Enforcer 104 Free is one of my favorite skis of all time, and I’m slightly sad the new version for 2025 is a bit less of a twin tip. I do know that change opens it up to more skiers who will enjoy it, but I’m miss having a true twin tip that’s 104 mm underfoot with two sheets of metal. That’s a pretty unique recipe, and the result is a ski that’s certainly not for everyone, but there aren’t many skis that combine power and playfulness like the Enforcer 104 Free. Seemingly endless stability at speed, but flickable edge release and a super fun shape overall gives it a distinct personality. It’s not light by any means, so can be somewhat fatiguing depending on your fitness level and/or skiing style. Aggressive, adventurous skiers who like to think outside the box and leave their own mark on the mountain tend to, however, absolutely love it. While $679.99 feels like a slightly inappropriate price to put into a Bargain Basement video, you’re saving almost $200. With the popularity of this ski, I don’t expect them to last too long.
Price: $679.99
Bob's Round 5 Pick:
2024 Volkl Blaze 94 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 158, 165, 172, 179, 186 cm | 38 / 17 / 32 m @ 179 cm | 134 / 94 / 116 mm | 1,455 g @ 165 cm | Quickness, Energy, Versatility |
Overview:
This is one is constantly overlooked. It gets shadowed by the Mantra in Volkl’s line, and kind of gets lost in the discussion of “is it a touring ski or a resort ski?” My answer is that generally, the Blaze will be best suited to resort skiers who ride the lifts. This does not mean that it can’t be used as a touring ski, and if you want to tour on it, then go right ahead! It’s certainly light enough and at 94 mm underfoot, it’s very versatile, but it’s also hard to deny how fun it is to use as a lift served ski. Like the Ripstick 96, this Blaze 94 offers an uncommon amount of performance for the weight. We get metal underfoot here that adds to grip and stability, and we get rubber in the tips and tails that balance out the weight distribution and make for a smooth ski. I love both the carving and the off-piste potential in this Blaze, and at close to $500, you’re getting one of the most well-rounded skis on the planet.
Price: $519.99
Jeff's Round 5 Pick:
2024 K2 Mindbender 85 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 156, 163, 170, 177 cm | 13.1 @ 170 cm | 128 / 85 / 116 mm | 1,650 g @ 170 cm | Versatility, Forgiveness, Value |
Overview:
If anyone was upset my last pick was too expensive, this one’s for you. With a matching price to the Revolt 96 I picked first, the Mindbender 85 is a better choice for relatively casual all-mountain skiers. Does casual come along with a negative connotation? I hope not, because I don’t mean it that way. What I mean is this is a fantastic choice if you ski, say, less than 20 days in a season and generally prefer relatively moderate, conservative terrain. While the Mindbender 85 doesn’t share the same technology as the wider models, it still features an Aspen Veneer core, Bio Resin, and K2’s All-Terrain Rocker Profile. In other words, it’s a very well-put-together ski and provides very appropriate performance for a lot of skiers. If you’re looking for a simple, no-frills, well-rounded all-mountain ski at an affordable price, look no further.
Price: $359.96
Bob's Round 6 Pick:
2024 K2 Poacher Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 163, 170, 177, 184 cm | 19 m @ 184 cm | 124 / 96 / 118 mm | 2,079 g @ 177 cm | Responsiveness, Slopestyle, Durability |
Overview:
I’ve always had a soft spot for this ski, and now that I can get it for under $500, I’m all over it. I like how it’s a twin tip, and is capable of top end freestyle competition, but it’s also a great all-mountain ski that’s solid, stable, and durable. The ski doesn’t have as dramatic splay as the narrower Sight/Midnight skis, and that allows for a smoother and more consistent character. It’s also a bit stiffer and heavier than a lot of twins out there, making it predictable and energetic when just simply skiing. The amazing part is that the Poacher can satisfy professional athletes like Colby Stevenson while also appealing to mid to upper 40’s ski dads who just want something fun and poppy to ski the whole mountain on. You could certainly put this ski atop the versatility board, which is super impressive as it also stands atop the slopestyle podium in X-Games and Olympic events.
Price: $479.96
Jeff's Round 6 Pick:
2024 Black Crows Atris Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 172.1, 178.4, 184.3, 190.2 cm | 20 m @ 184.3 cm | 138 / 105 / 122 mm | 1,975 g @ 184.3 cm | Smeariness, Flotation, Smoothness |
Overview:
While the price on the Atris is considerably higher than some of my other picks, I just couldn’t ignore it. The Atris is a fantastic ski, in many ways comparable to the QST 106 that was Bob’s first pick. It’s stable at speed, it’s playful, it’s maneuverable in tight terrain, and it does it all with a touch of freestyle flair. I’ve always liked the Atris, but this newest version is wildly fun to ski. It’s back again for next season with just a cosmetic change, so this is one of those situations where you’re buying the same ski as next year’s for significantly less. Black Crows is actually discounted a full 30% off right now, which is a bit more than most other brands. It might be a higher price than some of the other skis on this list, but it’s a bigger discount and you’re keeping more money in your wallet compared to buying it at full price. Black Crows makes some high-end, high-quality skis, and it’s reflected in the price tag, but that didn’t stop me from picking the Atris as I do see a lot of value at this price.
Price: $664.97
Bob's Round 7 Pick:
2024 Armada ARV 100 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 158, 165, 172, 179, 186 cm | 18 m @ 179 cm | 128 / 100 / 120 mm | 1,700 g @ 179 cm | Energy, Versatility, Durability |
Overview:
Even though they’re making a move to a more consistent poplar wood in this ski for 2025, I still had a wonderful experience on the light and energetic caruba core that adorned this ski this past year. Since I don’t ski park, I’m not as worried about durability—I prefer pop and playfulness in my skis, and that’s just what I’m getting in the ARV 100. The camber sticks out here as a big positive, delivering energy and rebound in short and mid-radius turns. As long as you’re a stable skier, it’ll do just fine at higher speeds, but for soft snow, bumps, and trees, there’s not a whole lot better or more fun out there. For the tighter spots that we have here at Stowe, this ARV 100 is a no-brainer—willing and capable to go anywhere and do anything. It’s so incredibly agile and energetic for a 100 mm twin tip. While skis like the Unleashed 98 and Poacher have a bit more oomph to their style, the ARV 100 is incredibly entertaining and rewarding.
Price: $559.96
Jeff's Round 7 Pick:
2024 Fisher Ranger 102 Skis

| AVAILABLE SIZES | TURN RADIUS | SIDECUT | WEIGHT | STRENGTHS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 169, 176, 183, 190 cm | 19 m @ 183 cm | 138 / 102 / 128 mm | 2,050 g @ 183 cm | Powder, Trees, Flexibility |
Overview:
It’s amazing to think back to when we first skied the new Ranger 102. It feels like ages ago, and it’s been the same $849.99 price ever since. It’s honestly hard to remember the last time you could buy a discounted Ranger of any width, but the time has come! The Ranger 102 is one of my favorite skis on the market, which I think is evident if you go back and watch some of our initial content on it. Similar to the Atris, it comes back again next season with just a new look, but no other changes. Important note here... the teal color is going away, and I think it’s such a cool color. So, maybe it’s a bit superficial on my end, but the reason I picked the Ranger 102 as my final pick is basically because of that teal color. I find it very aesthetically pleasing, and I thoroughly enjoy skiing the Ranger 102, so it’s like a win-win. The new colorway for the Ranger 102 is purple. Purple is my favorite color, but there’s something about this teal that feels special.
