2027 Ski Test Behind the Scenes: 2027 Nordica Dobermann Multipista 80 DC
As the wider sibling of the narrower Multipista 74, the new 80 adds just a bit of confidence in soft snow without really jeopardizing the on-trail acumen of the narrower ski. While it’s not quite as quick from edge to edge, it still does what it’s told when it comes to short swing and longer arc turns. The power and smoothness of this ski is what sets it apart from other skis in the 80 mm range, as it does have the horizontal wood core construction that makes it quiet, damp, and totally predictable.
When we skied it during the ski test, the snow was grippy and firm. Actually, it was ideal Multipista conditions, and the trails were smoother than expected. At no point did either of us feel like we needed more ski, less width, or really anything else on our feet. When the conditions degraded, the ski kept right up, as that’s where we really felt the added width makes a lot of sense. While some carving purists will insist that 80 mm is too darn wide to get a proper carve, we felt that it was right at home in our on-trail skiing here at Stowe.
