Introducing: SkiEssentials Stowe and SkiEssentials Killington
Today is an exciting day! We are thrilled to announce that we have rebranded our brick-and-mortar stores to SkiEssentials Stowe and SkiEssentials Killington to unify our brand and provide more consistency to the SkiEssentials experience. We have been working on this change for a long time and are very excited to finally share the news with our beloved customers!
While many of you know us for our online presence, the truth is that this company started in a brick-and-mortar space back in 1984 as Bedside Tuners right here in Stowe, VT. Bedside Tuners was a small tune shop offering a unique delivery service that included a freshly baked muffin hanging from your freshly tuned skis, patiently waiting for you right outside your hotel door. The company grew to become Pinnacle Ski and Sports and Inner Bootworks, known for offering premium brands, the best boot fitting in the area, an extensive demo fleet, and unbeatable deals. The location changed over the years, bringing us to our current location at 1652 Mountain Road in Stowe.
In the summer of 2022, almost exactly four years ago, we acquired Basin Sports in Killington, a well-known shop that had been serving skiers and riders in the area since 1958. This was an exciting venture for our company, as it allowed us to bring in new ownership, a refreshed look, and a comprehensive shopping experience to a prominent and convenient location in Killington. It also gave us another touchpoint with our online customers. As the SkiEssentials brand continued to grow, our Killington location became the first place where we began implementing more “SkiEssentials” branding to better connect the branches of our company.
While in recent years, you’ve been able to place orders on SkiEssentials.com and pick them up at either Pinnacle or Basin, operating under the three brands wasn’t easy or intuitive for our customers, and naturally, conversations about consolidating these brands began happening with more and more frequency.
Today, we officially announce that Pinnacle Ski and Sports is now SkiEssentials Stowe and Basin Sports is now SkiEssentials Killington! What does that mean to you, the customer?
To start, our stores are now the physical home of the SkiEssentials brand in both Stowe and Killington. While our offsite warehouse still exists and is home to our central offices and shipping hub, our brick-and-mortar shops are where you can go to engage directly with the SkiEssentials brand. The online business and our brick-and-mortar shops will also become more directly connected. You will find more consistency in customer service, regardless of whether you’re talking to us online, on the phone, or in person. If you’d like to physically see a product that’s on our website, but not in one of our shops, no problem! Just let us know and we’ll transfer the product to whichever location is more convenient for you. Want to place an order online and pick it up in one of our shops? Not a problem at all! Need to return an online order and you’re near one of our shops? Just bring it in and we’ll take care of it in person!
What about Inner Bootworks? We will begin to phase out the Inner Bootworks name over the course of the next year or so, but the services offered will only improve. We remain extremely committed to providing top notch boot fitting and service not just in Stowe, but in all of our locations. If you’re visiting our shop in Killington, you’ll find the same level of professionalism and expertise from our staff.
Will you expand to more locations in the future? While we don’t currently have any immediate plans to open new shops in other locations, we would absolutely love to someday.
