The Blizzard Hustle 11 skis with bindings are a fantastic choice for advanced and expert freeride skiers who are looking for maximum flotation and versatility. Lighter than the comparable Rustler 11, the Hustle replaces the Titanal DRT laminate with a Carbon one, and adds the Freeride TrueBlend wood core to the mix. In terms of the DRT laminate, carbon is lighter and snappier than metal, so it does change the underfoot character of the ski, but if you’re looking for an agile and precise ski in the middle, this is as good of an application as we’ve seen. TrueBlend has been all the rage in ski construction from the people at Blizzard these past few years, and now that it’s making its way into the Freeride/Backcountry line, we���re expecting very good things. By incorporating Beech, Poplar, and Paulownia stringers of different lengths into the core of the ski, the engineers are able to fine-tune and customize the flex and performance of the ski in a very precise manner. It even allows them to vary the flex per length, which is something that doesn’t really happen across the board.
