DESCRIPTION

The 2026 Elan Ripstick 108 adds a different shape and personality for the Ripstick line. Picking up where the Ripstick 106 left off, the 108 is a resort and backcountry ski intended for big lines and soft snow. Intuitive and maneuverable, these lightweight freeride skis are up for challenge anywhere on the mountain.

Why we like it:

Intuitive and forgiving, the Ripstick 108 is a ski that everyone feels at home with right away. Its lightweight construction and Amphibio Rocker keeps you charging all day without tiring you out.

Who it's for:

Intermediate to expert level skiers will love this ski’s responsiveness and quickness anywhere on the mountain, especially when the snow is soft.

Highlights:

Amphibio Rocker assists with smooth transitioning from edge to edge while the Tubelite Woodcore, Carbon Rods, and UD Fiber laminates keep the weight to a minimum, so you can kep charging all day long, while bolstering stability and reactiveness.

Things to consider:

This is a fairly soft ski longitudinally and torsionally, so firm snow and higher skier weights are not this ski’s forte. Extremely aggressive skiers may find this ski too forgiving and may want to consider some other more robust options in this ~110 mm underfoot category of freeride skis.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Skis true to size. If you are a heavier or more aggressive skier, sizing up is recommended if the terrain intended to be skied is more spaced out and open.

Good length for this ski. Only need to go longer is if I'm taking it out to big lines out west

Thoughts
Big lines, something with a lot of room to get it up to speed. The faster you go, the more you appreciate what this ski was made to do. That being said, slower speed in the spring bumps, it was manageable, but definitely not where the ski wants to be.
Hard to find anything I didn't like about this ski other than the mountain seemed too small. If I was somewhere like Jackson or Crested Butte or somewhere with big, steep lines, this would definitely be a ski I'd consider.
Overal Impression
One word: stability. This is a ski for going fast... really fast. Get it on edge and it won't let go. Speed limit? Nope, it's like a car that feels like you're doing 50, but you look down and it turns out you're doing 80.
