DESCRIPTION

New for 2025 and remaining unchanged for 2026, the Elan Ripstick 88 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings emerges as the go-to frontside ski within the Ripstick series. Designed for firm and fast snow conditions, these skis are a perfect match for high edge angles and quick turns. Light and agile, the Ripstick 88 excels from the first run to the last chair. We paired the 88 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

The Ripstick 88 offers exceptional quickness and agility, with a high carving performance ceiling. Its low weight relative to its carving capability is particularly noteworthy.

Who it's for:

Intermediate to expert skiers who are lighter in weight and favor frontside carving will find the Ripstick 88 to be an ideal choice.

Highlights:

The Ripstick 88 boasts Elan’s Tubelite wood core, which integrates lightweight carbon tubes running the full length of the ski. These provide a dynamic flex and response in all directions, enhancing both torsional and longitudinal performance while keeping the ski light. The Amphibio Rocker facilitates smooth edge-to-edge transitions, and the UD Fiber laminates contribute to the ski’s low weight, enabling you to ski run after run without tiring. With a low stand height of just 17 millimeters, the 2027 Tyrolia Attack 14 offers an impressively close connection to the snow, delivering precise power transmission and a confident, locked-in feel. The FR Pro3 toe piece allows for a full 180 degrees of boot release, enhancing safety in a variety of fall scenarios, while the AFS (Anti-Friction Slider) ensures reliable re-centering and consistent release characteristics. Built to withstand hard use, the Attack 14 combines durability with performance, making it a go-to option for aggressive skiers who demand trust in their gear.

Things to consider:

Heavier and more aggressive skiers may experience a slight reduction in torsional stiffness and edge grip, particularly on firm snow. Lighter skiers generally do not face this issue.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Ripstick 88 skis true to size. Heavier and more aggressive skiers might want to size up or consider the Ripstick 96 Black Edition for added support.
