What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

While the conditions were challenging with an inch of snow on top of frozen surface from the previous days rain, which limited the ability to fully test all of its qualities, it skied great. I tried it out in some icy bumps and the tails came around nicely with reasonable quickness. They were also quite stable and held an edge nicely for an all mountain 93 mm waist.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Great on hardpack and hopeful it would be a good ski to ski moguls and powder and a run like tres amigos with spaced trees.

This is an advanced to expert ski.

The turn initiation was surprisingly easy on this ski. I would highly recommend as an easy coast daily driver.

I love skis that are meant to go fast. This ski felt comfortable with speed, but didn't love to carve on the bulletproof and death cookies present today. I realize the ski is meant for softer snow. It skied very well, but not as good as I would expect considering it's exceptional cost.

That 190 is awesome. So quiet, so stable, perfect for a flowy long turn groomers. I mean that stability is really unique. I will say the 190 is a little long for me if I were to take it into the trees, bumps, bowls, bigger terrain. But great ski.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

I would honestly ski this ski mostly front side, I could also see it charging through chopped up bowls, and floating really well in powder, but man is that fun to lay over.

I would say for a 101, 190, I would put a hard charging skier on this ski. The Paragon demands someone to push it.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

This is a high-end ski with fantastic snow feel. It's easy to steer but you can really lean into it and get amazing feedback and performance. It's a very good floater for the width and it's also a very good carver for the width. In the low to mid-90's skis like this need to do a lot, and the Paragon 93 certainly handles variety.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This ski can go anywhere due to the shape and it can handle higher speeds and more aggressive skiing due to the construction. From tip to tail and side to side, the Paragon 93 exudes versatility and makes quick work of variable conditions and sketchy terrain.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

This is more of an advanced or expert ski but I could see a progressing intermediate sizing down and having a lot of fun.

Smooth and easy to turn.

All mountain. Definitely holds well on hardpack, but the tips float so they handled the piles of spring snow easily. Easy to turn and smooth in the mixed conditions. Handled the bumps okay but not be their forte.

Intermediate to expert. An expert can have a lot of fun with these. The ease of turning makes it good for intermediates and offers the ability to advance to expert.

I wouldn’t change much. The rocker tips sometimes bounced. I’m betting they would on frozen corduroy.

Super fun. The two sheets of metal means it’s quite beefy, but the more energy you give it the more it gives you back. I didn’t find the speed limit on these, I found them to be super fun to ski bouncing in, around and over moguls and then charging through the soft snow. I could see myself skiing this as a daily driver.

One of the most dynamic all-mountain skis out there. Enough torsional stiffness for confident edge grip and just the right amount of suppleness in the flex to provide approachability and forgivingness without giving up much in the ways of power and stability. Would be a contender for an east-coast, one-ski-quiver.

All-mountain, groomers, carving, off trail (Trees, bumps). A strong and energetic construction mixed with a good amount of tip rocker and taper make this thing incredibly versatile.

Lively and energetic with good edge hold. Tail released quite easily and predictably but at higher speeds it lost some of its stability and deflected more. Overall a very approachable ski but no standout characteristic.

Appropriate Terrain

All around. Anything with less than 2 inches of snow. Carves really well and is quite quick so good in bumps and trees but at higher speeds deflects and looses some stability.

Intermediate up. Very easy to ski and not super heavy. Stronger skiers may prefer a more stable, stronger ski.

Other Thoughts

The noise. Its got this weird tingy sound when skiing. Would also make the ski a touch stronger and heavier as it felt like it deflected quite easily.

My first impression was how smooth this ski is, even when you start putting some speed through it. I felt planted but not locked in, at any point in a turn I felt like breaking off would be easy and that the tails wouldn't catch. They also were pretty light, which made navigating bumps and woods a breeze. I had a great time on this ski and would happily ski it again in the future.

This is a great ski for your typical weekday at the mountain. the 93mm waist is great for what you typically find at resorts but not ideal for a big powder day.
