What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

I really liked this ski right away. I wanted to do a lot more laps in as much variety as possible. I was surprised how confident I felt in a fast steep turn in looser snow.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This feels like it could be a “one ski to rule them all” for those who can really only have a one ski quiver. That’s to say it was playful, wide enough for powder, turned well and was very stable. I’d have to test on firmer/icy terrain, but generally speaking feels like an east coast ski.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Intermediate or advanced. The harder you push on the ski the more it seemed to dig in, just felt all around very comfortable.

As damp as Rossi, easy enough to get into a carve but doesn’t have the edge hold of the 101.

Light powder trees bumps, no icy groomers.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

I tend to prefer a lighter ski in this category (e.g. the Elan Ripstick 102 Black edition), but I enjoyed skiing this ski that bridges the gap between an all-mountain ski and something a bit more playful. The Sender Soul 102 is strong enough to power through heavy wet chop, but quick enough to fly through the bumps and error correct in the way. Not too demanding of a ski, but certainly able to perform when skied aggressively.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

The ski is quite robust which isn’t surprising considering the metal plate in there. Incredibly fun ski I wouldn’t classify it as playful, but it’s certainly responsive and forgiving. You can certainly push the envelope a little bit on this ski too, which surprised me in a good way!

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

This thing is an absolute tank! Very stable and incredibly smooth but not very forgiving or maneuverable. You can get some playfulness and maneuverability with sizing down from your typical length but dang these things are stiff, heavy, and planted. The long turn radius also lends the ski to really comes alive on big, steep, and open pitches.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Wide, open, and steep groomers.

Advanced to expert skiers who are physically strong.

Very well rounded. It's not the most playful ski, and it's not trying to be, but it carves well, is very predictable and has a nice balance of stabilty and forgiveness and despite the lack of standout playfuness is easy to manage in bumps/ woods.

Appropriate Terrain

To me this is a very well rounded ski with no particular standout features. Not boring, just good everywhere but not the most memerable. Would be a great narrower option for out west or wider option for out east. It's so well rounded it may overlap with a narrower ski like a rustler/ enforcer/mantra etc in some cases.

Appropriate Skier

Intermediate up. Felt well rounded and easy to ski overall, but certianly had a high ceiling. No odd characterstics and the swing weight felt on the lighter side.

Other Thoughts

Slightly more tail rocker to make the ski a touch more playful. It has the backbone but to make it more of a mid-width freeride ski, I think a touch more tail rocker would help. It may add a touch of life to the ski i think it's missing.

Rossignol nailed it combining the feel of the Sender 110 with the ease of use and maneuverability of the old Soul 7. Super fun to ski in a variety of different conditions and environments. Not the strongest ski in the world, but enough oomph for most while also being incredibly intuitive.

Appropriate Terrain

Powder, trees, chutes, bowls… if your preference is off piste adventurous terrain, you’re going to have a great time.

Appropriate Skier

Intermediates could ski it as their powder ski. An expert will find it to be an all mountain freeride weapon.

Other Thoughts

I’d love it if it had the tail shape of the 110 but I also understand why it doesn’t. Makes more sense this way for more skiers.

The Rossi Sender Soul 102 was fantastic. Awesome on groomers, stable, and playful. Even through the powder this ski floats and bounces around with confidence. The 102 underfoot would make a great 1 ski quiver for most folks.

Appropriate Terrain

This ski can pretty much ski anything except the deepest days. Whether you are skiing inbounds or off piste this ski can handle it. It performs really well in most terrain.

Appropriate Skier

Intermediate to expert skiers will enjoy this ski. It is appropriate for these types of skiers because it is confidence inspiring and can charge for the higher end skier but the intermediate skier will also find it very intuitive and straightforward to ski without too much of a learning curve. You can get on this ski and have confidence from the first turn.

Other Thoughts

Maybe bump it up to like a 104. Then it would be a little better on the deeper days but still be able to ski everything else with confidence.

I wasn't expecting a lot from the Sender Soul but was pleasantly surprised with what I experienced. All the performance points you expect from a sender ski are there, its just lighter. This does lead to it being pushed around a little more easily by bumps, but that is extremely manageable. These felt like actual all mountain skis and not just groomer skis that you can sometimes take off trail.

Appropriate Terrain

These can pretty much go anywhere you want with how versatile they are. you won't be laying down big GS carves with these, but I expect these won't come out of the woods too often.

Appropriate Skier

I think a lot of people in that intermediate to advanced category will love these. especially if they are looking to pick up their first wide ski and don't want top sacrifice all mountain performance.

Other Thoughts

I think if I had a couple more seasons on this ski I could think of something, but as it stands I've got nothing.
