The M7’s stability and precision for complete confidence carving control is just outstanding. There is a exclusive group of all-mountain skis out there that just hook up on demand and hold you there from the beginning to the end of a carve and the M7 is squarely in the middle of that group.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert skiers who are looking for versatile all mountain performance with a preference towards carving. Intermediate skiers will likely have a tougher time with the M7 as it requires good technique and strong legs.

Highlights:

Volkl’s 4 Radius Drive sidecut gives the M7 4 different turn radii depending on which portion of the ski is driven and weighted. The tips, 2 underfoot zones, and aft portions of the skis have specific sidecuts. Tailored Titanal Frame is made up of a full sheet of titanal under the core with a segmented frame above the core to allow tailored torsional and longitudinal flex to specific portions of the ski to provide incredible edge grip but also provide some forgiveness for intuitiveness. Tailored Carbon Tips use hand-laid carbon stringers in the tips to adjust their torsional stiffness to boost turn initiation smoothness and precision. Volkl’s Multilayer Wood Core utilizes poplar and beech stringers to provide energy and stiffness to particular sections of the ski where it is most needed.

Things to consider:

The M7 Mantra is not for everyone as it requires a lot of skier input and must be always driven hard or else you quickly become the passenger instead of the pilot. Physically strong skiers with a lot of experience and refined skiing technique will have the most success here.
