What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

This ski was really interesting to “learn”. Off the bat, I expected a really playful park ski, possibly even buttery. But it’s not that. It’s also not a crazy frontside ski, despite its 15m turn radius. As such, I was a bit confused about what this ski was supposed to be. And then I took a run where I just laid into the short radius, and all of the sudden it started clicking. These skis would be incredibly fun for park layouts that embrace “swerve skiing”. Sugarbush for example would be fun. But, the skis are stiff. So they’d also love big jump features too. Then it hit me: these skis would be perfect at Kimbo Sessions. Which… makes sense. Given these are Kimbo’s skis. As such: that’s who these skis are perfect for. Kimbo, and Kimbo inspired skiers.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

The ideal terrain is a park with features everywhere, requiring tight turns to get from feature to feature. Likewise, at mountains with fun freeride terrain and side hits would be a blast on these.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Ability-wise, these are wide ranging. From intermediates just looking for a fun all mountain ski with a freestyle tendency, to advanced park skiers looking for a tight radius ski they can go big on.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

My only feedback is that these could’ve had a little more life to them. Maybe some carbon in the core or camber underfoot.

This ski felt shorter than it was, I would normally pick a 182 but this ski felt like a high 170s. Very maneuverable for a ski of this length.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

My first impression of the Armada Kimbo ski was that it felt incredibly quick and nimble, making it fun to ski. The lively nature really shines in softer snow, offering a playful ride. However, it was the only ski in the test that I experienced a boot-out with. This likely happened due to a mix of me pushing a 95mm waist ski in very soft snow conditions, combined with its lack of grip in those deeper, looser conditions.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This ski would probably be a blast in the park. With its soft flex and playful nature, it's perfect for hitting jumps and sliding rails. While it’s designed primarily for park skiing, it’s versatile enough to have fun charging around the entire mountain.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

This ski would be good for intermediate to advanced ability levels. It’s playful and forgiving, making it easy to mess around in the park or take on new tricks but also would be fun jibbing around the rest of the mountain.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

I would offer more sizes than just a 182, I understand it is a pro model ski but Aramada is likely loosing a lot of folks who need a smaller or larger ski.
