DESCRIPTION

The 2026 Blizzard Anomaly 102 brings power, precision, and stability to the freeride all-mountain category, bridging the gap between freeride versatility and big-mountain power. Built with a stout construction and directional rocker profile, it’s designed for skiers who charge hard across everything from frontside hardpack to chopped-up bowls and mixed snow.

Why we like it:

It’s got the muscle to crush variable terrain, but enough shape and rocker to keep things versatile and composed when conditions shift.

Who it's for:

Ideal for advanced and expert skiers who want a strong, confidence-inspiring ski that blends freeride float with frontside edge hold. A great choice for those who lean aggressive and want one ski that can do just about everything.

Highlights:

The Anomaly 102 may share some DNA with Blizzard’s legendary Cochise, but this ski was built from the ground up with a new approach to construction. Instead of utilizing full edge-to-edge metal laminates, Blizzard uses strategically banded sections of Titanal layered throughout the ski, delivering power and dampness where you need it, while keeping the overall flex more supple and accessible. The result is a ski that still charges when pushed but feels noticeably more versatile and less punishing than its predecessor. It’s a more modern, more approachable take on high-performance all-mountain skiing.

Things to consider:

This is a serious ski. It’s stable and strong, but not the most playful or forgiving. If you’re looking for something more surfy or freestyle-oriented, you’ll want to look at a softer option with a twin tip.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These ski on the long side, so go ahead and size down for more agility in tighter terrain – there’s no loss of power here. Big mountain skiers should stick with their usual length for the most high-speed stability in open terrain.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
Powerful, wants to rip big turns, fast!
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
Groomers, chop, soft or hard snow. This ski holds an edge! Blasts through anything. Very confidence inspiring. Tails love to rocket you through the end of the turn, but still release when you ask them too. Smaller turns work better up to speed, bumps are still fun, but more work.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
Advanced-expert. I don’t think an intermediate skier would get the benefits for this ski's power, but they are super fun for an upper level skier!
If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?
I wouldn't change anything.
