DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Blizzard Rustler 11 is the powder hound of the Rustler family. It's built for deep snow days, big terrain, and confident freeride lines. But don’t let the width fool you, as this ski isn’t just about float. With its balanced flex, Titanal Fluxform construction, and light, energetic core, the Rustler 11 delivers surprising power and control in between the fresh turns.

Why we like it:

It’s powerful and planted when you need it, but playful and pivoty when you want it, which is a rare blend in a ski this wide.

Who it's for:

Expert skiers looking for a stable-yet-surfable powder ski that can handle high speeds, steep terrain, and variable conditions without flinching. Ideal for those who chase storms and love to explore.

Highlights:

The Rustler 11 is built around Blizzard’s True Blend Freeride Woodcore, a mix of beech, poplar, and paulownia woods that keeps the ski light and energetic, with the right amount of stiffness underfoot for confidence at speed. FluxForm tech reinforces that feel, using Titanal “control arms” that extend into the forebody of the ski, giving it stability underfoot and enhanced power transfer without muting its playfulness. The generous rocker profile gives you effortless float in deep snow, strong grip when you hit something firm, and smooth transitions through turns. Whether you're dropping into an untouched bowl or navigating the tail end of a storm cycle, the Rustler 11 gives you the tools to stay aggressive and in control.

Things to consider:

This is a wide ski made for soft snow. It can handle firmer terrain when needed, but it's happiest when there's depth to work with. For daily driving or mixed-condition versatility, consider the narrower Rustler 9 or 10.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These ski true to size. Go longer if you're prioritizing float and high-speed stability; size down for super quick handling in tighter terrain or tree lines.

Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
I think it skis true to size for a freeride ski like this. I prefer the 186 in the Rustler 11, but 180 in the 9 and 10.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
I really enjoy all the Rustler skis. I don't get as many chances to ski the 11 as the narrower skis, but always enjoy it. It's a nice mix of a playful shape with some strength in the build. It's not overwhelming nor is it hard to wrangle, it just has the necessary amount of stability and vibration damping for those who like to ski fast. Great in soft snow, a good powder ski for sure, but not super light. If I had to pick between the two, I'd probably choose the new Canvas 118 as a powder ski just because it's lighter and matches my style more.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
It's a highly versatile freeride/powder ski. It'll handle deep snow just as well as it'll handle wind-buffed or chalky conditions. Would make a great competition freeride ski for a lot of skiers as that blend of playfulness and power lets you be creative while having a support system if things go haywire.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
It's a big ski and with the metal in the construction, it's a bit much for an intermediate. Even some advanced skiers would feel a little out of place, but most would be fine. Experts will love its powder performance and relatively good stability.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
Definitely the best Rustler graphic.
