I live for high-speed laps on corduroy, strictly avoiding bumps unless I'm looking for a challenge. Always followed by a well-earned waffle!

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

It’s a fast ski with great edge hold and stability with the metal. Ex racers would enjoy it.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Groomers and icy days are best to appreciate the edge hold.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

This feels like an aggressive skier would appreciate it most, but there is forgiveness if you want to smear turns.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

It was deceivingly quick and held an edge even at top speed.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

Fun but not enough ski for the firm conditions. This would love soft groomers. Got unstable at high speeds but when slowed down it was happy to make turns.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Soft groomers.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

A good intro to carving ski for an a strong intermediate ski.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

Pretty colors.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

This ski is great! It doesn’t really stand out but it’s really just fine and can hang in most conditions, and maybe most importantly for me as an east coast skier it can carve reliably on steep icy terrain which is a must.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This is a great gentle all mountain ski.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

I can’t necessarily speak for the beginner skier here but I can certainly imagine this ski works well for the intermediate, expert and advanced skier.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

She’s pretty!

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

WOW, such a fun front side carving ski. Easy to get on edge, holds tight and easy to release. I am a big fan of Elans carbon rod technology, it's very energetic and smooth. The carbon reacts to energy you put into it, so when you have lots of energy and strength you can really power the ski but as you get tired throughout the day the carbon can easily be backed off and you can relax and take a more casual turn without being driving by the ski.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Frontside carving ski at its best, it performed well on ice and is even more fun on softer groomed trails.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Intermediate to advanced lady who likes to stay on trail and make lots of turns, its short radius makes it great for smaller turn shapes.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

Again, I am huge fan of Elans carbon rod technology, it skis like no other brand out there and truly changes with the strength and power you put into your turns.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

I liked that it was lighter weight than its sister Black Edition. Maybe because I am lightweight, I felt it was easier to move and more nimble.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Groomers of all classes.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Intermediate to expert.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

My review on the Black Edition says Ripstick, but I meant Wildcat. Sorry Bob, Jeff, and Matt.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

I don’t think these skis are suited to the warm slush today. I had a few harder packed turns that they performed much better in. They felt sluggish and difficult to maneuver in the slush which made me feel unstable.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Firm/hard pack groomers would be great if this ski. I think it would be much more responsive in these conditions.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Intermediate to expert. The difficulty maneuver is not suited well for a beginner.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

Not sure I have anything to change. I would like to try them in hard pack conditions.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

They felt like they wanted to carve and go fast which I personally liked. I’m not sure if they’re the most versatile ski, but I feel like they are good for most lift riding east coast skiers.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Seems a good all mountain ski that prefers groomers/carving.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

I think this would do well with an Intermediate to advanced skier on groomed snow. I didn’t feel like they were quite heavy enough for today and not wide enough for a powder day but pretty ideal for the average east coast ski day.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

I think it does job really well.
