DESCRIPTION

As a new member of the Arcade lineup, the 2027 Rossignol Arcade 94 is the widest among the bunch, but sits between the 84 and 88 in terms of the actual characteristics of the ski. It takes the power of the 88 and the playfulness of the 84 and combines them in a wider bodied all mountain format to give us a ski that absolutely rips on firm snow, yet has the width to tackle softer conditions.

Why we like it:

We love the more traditional feel of the Arcade 94; it’s short radius allows you to access a variety of turn sizes and shapes.

Who it's for:

Directional skiers who prefer a more traditional shape and camber will feel right at home on the Arcade 94.

Highlights:

Rossignol gives the Arcade 94 its own unique construction in the line. 2 layers of Titanal bolstering the wood core provide torsional stiffness and give the ski plenty of power, but don’t extend into the tips and tails of the ski, which allows for a slightly more forgiving flex and gives the 94 a friendlier, more supple feel. A traditional directional shape means that in spite of its wider width, the Arcade 94 is very much a piste oriented ski.

Things to consider:

While the Arcade 94 is definitely softer in the tip and tail compared to the 88, make no mistake – this is still a stiff, burly ski that does require a fair amount of skill to maneuver. The lack of taper in the tips and tails means the Arcade 94 initiates quickly and likes to finish a turn; skiers looking for something smeary and surfy will want to look at something more freeride oriented.

Fit & sizing considerations:

With a longer effective edge, these ski a bit on the long side and skiers can size down without fear of a performance penalty.

These skis are extremely stable and planted. They really want to finish a turn, but if you lean into the turning radius, you get a lot of snap out of the tails.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
Fun and playful, only a tad chattery, did well with big wide turns as well as tight playful ones, and held speed well.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
Groomers baby.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
Intermediate and above, needs a little power behind them.
If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?
Seems like a single use ski so good for firm days.
