DESCRIPTION

The 2026 Volkl Mantra 102 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is a wide-bodied all-mountain ski with the heart of a race ski. Built for high-speed stability and powerful carving, the Mantra 102 delivers incredible edge hold and precision on firm snow, all while offering the stability of a confidence-inspiring 102 mm platform. With titanal, carbon, and Volkl’s signature multi-radius design, this is a ski for those who charge with intention. We paired the Mantra 102 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

It’s a ski that defies expectations—102 mm underfoot, but with the edge hold and smoothness of a much narrower carver. When you need a wider ski that rips like a GS board, the Mantra 102 is a top-tier performer.

Who it's for:

Ideal for advanced to expert skiers who want a strong, directional ski with serious power and grip. Perfect for those who prioritize carving performance but want the float and stability of a wider chassis for mixed snow conditions.

Highlights:

Volkl’s 3D Radius sidecut blends three distinct turn radii into one shape, making the ski equally capable of quick slashes or long, arcing carves. The Tailored Titanal Frame strategically distributes metal for maximum grip and strength underfoot while allowing the ski to flex more intuitively elsewhere. Tailored Carbon Tips enhance turn initiation and dampen vibration, while the Multilayer Wood Core (poplar and beech) gives the ski a responsive, energetic feel without sacrificing stiffness or precision. The Attack 14 GW’s FR PRO3 Toe contains 30 mm of elastic travel which provides a smooth and confidence inspiring feel when tracking though variable snow while also recentering the boot to its neutral position extremely well to keep you locked in, acting almost like a suspension system. NX FR Heel pieces have 16 mm of elastic travel which assists in prevent false-releases. These heel pieces also make stepping into and out of bindings with ease, even in deep snow.

Things to consider:

The Mantra 102 is a serious ski that demands an engaged, assertive skier. Its full sidewall construction and minimal rocker make it less playful in deep snow or tight terrain, so if you’re looking for a surfier or more forgiving experience, you may want to explore more tapered or rockered alternatives.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These skis run true to size. Choose your regular length for optimal edge grip and stability. Size down slightly if you want quicker handling or more agility in tight spaces.

This ski felt like it could do it all, nice carve-ability and at 102 in the waist.
