DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Armada AntiMatter 88 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is the snappy frontside member of the redesigned AntiMatter Series, with reach that extends past the groomers. Carbon-reinforced construction fires the ski edge to edge, and measured tip and tail rocker folds in enough soft-snow range to cover the whole mountain. We paired the Antimatter 88 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

Few frontside skis with this much structure feel this alive. The carbon build flips from edge to edge on the smallest input and springs out of turns with real energy, so the ski carves like a dedicated frontside tool yet plays like something more adaptable.

Who it's for:

Advanced and expert skiers wanting a quick, carve-focused all-mountain ski are the audience. Trail regulars who still appreciate the occasional detour into off-trail terrain, softening afternoon snow, or a chopped-up field will get the most out of it.

Highlights:

Precision starts with the 88 mm waist, but the personality comes from carbon reinforcement, which fires the ski edge to edge on minimal input and springs it out of turns with more life than a heavier titanal layup. A Poplar core underpins that balanced, energetic feel. The All-Mtn Rocker profile tips the nose up for soft snow yet keeps the tail nearly flat so the edge releases cleanly. For the long haul, All Mountain Edges and a carbon-infused Comp Series Base cover durability and glide, and AR100 sidewalls anchor the edge hold the ski is built around. With a low stand height of just 17 millimeters, the 2027 Tyrolia Attack 14 offers an impressively close connection to the snow, delivering precise power transmission and a confident, locked-in feel. The FR Pro3 toe piece allows for a full 180 degrees of boot release, enhancing safety in a variety of fall scenarios, while the AFS (Anti-Friction Slider) ensures reliable re-centering and consistent release characteristics. Built to withstand hard use, the Attack 14 combines durability with performance, making it a go-to option for aggressive skiers who demand trust in their gear.

Things to consider:

Built narrow and carve-first, this ski belongs on the front side far more than off it. Anyone whose typical day is mostly soft snow should jump to a wider AntiMatter or an ARV.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Expect honest length, so stick with the frontside or all-mountain size you already ride.

A bit more rigid than I used to be but still trying to be dynamic, smooth, and fluid with varying degrees of success. Skis on the snow, these days.

Skied at Pico in Vermont on a firm groomer. More frozen granular than packed powder.
Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
This was the proper length for this ski for me. Skied true to size and felt supportive at a variety of speeds and turn shapes.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
These 88's are just so fun. They really feel planted in a carved turn and provide a whole lot of energy in the transition phase. Great edge grip and stability for not having metal. I'd ski this thing any day, anywhere.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
This is primarily a groomer ski, but fares well in an all-mountain and off-piste format. Not a great powder ski, but that's not the point. It has great grip and torsional stiffness for being light and agile.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
This ski has a big range of ability levels. You can be an emerging intermediate as well as an aggressive expert and find something to like here. Easy turning but high performance ceiling.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
If all ski manufacturers got together and decided they were all going to make one ski for everyone on planet earth, this would get my vote.
