The 2027 Head WCR e.SG Rebel RP 185 is the next step up in HEAD's Super-G range, longer than the 175 and a more typical FIS speed-event length for older juniors and smaller adults. It gets refinements for the new season while keeping the calm, fast, World Cup-spec character that defines the line. The RP designation flags the included WCR 14 Short race plate.

Why we like it:

The 185 has the right blend of length and weight for the bridge between U18 SL/GS racers and full SG spec equipment. The graphene-titanal sandwich keeps the swing weight from feeling like a punishment while still delivering the kind of high-speed stability a Super-G ski has to have.

FIS Super-G racers in the older junior and smaller adult ranges, masters speed-event athletes, and racers stepping up from junior speed gear. Built for committed racers and should be sized with coach input.

Highlights:

The Graphene Worldcup Sandwich Construction is the same World Cup-spec layup as the rest of the senior race line, with a vertical-laminate wood core, titanal layers, and graphene reinforcement inside phenolic sidewalls. That construction is what gives Super-G skis their signature calm feel at speed; without serious damping mass, an SG ski just chatters. EMC adds the electronic vibration management on top of that, which matters most when the snow surface starts breaking down late in a course. The RD Racing Top Sheet keeps deck weight low for sharper response, the Race Structured High Speed UHM C Base with infrared waxing prep handles glide, and Rebel Camber keeps the underfoot engagement strong through long arcs. WCR 14 Short raceplate is included and ready for Freeflex bindings.

Things to consider:

This is still a Super-G ski with a long radius and a stiff flex pattern. It needs speed and space to make sense. It's not a free-skiing tool and not a ski for racers who aren't training at a high level.
