2027 K2 Mindbender 96 Women's Skis
SKU KS261813From morning corduroy to afternoon chop, the Mindbender 96 W puts women's-specific geometry behind K2's new Mindbender freeride construction. The 96mm waist is a natural fit for skiers who don't want to choose between a carver and a powder ski, and the Stance Forward design gives the geometry a fundamentally different starting point than the men's version.
Why we like it:
There's a strong-to-weight ratio here that you don't often find in 96mm-waisted women's skis. Between the Aspen Paulownia core, the targeted-mass approach of Dark Matter, and the centered titanal strip, K2 ended up with a ski that feels light underfoot but tracks like something heavier. That combination is the whole point of the new Mindbender line, and it's especially welcome at this width.
Who it's for:
Advanced and expert women skiers looking for an everyday all-mountain ski. Skiers who prefer a single quiver-of-one over rotating between specialized skis will get the most out of this width and construction.
Highlights:
Like the men's version, the 96 W gets Dark Matter inserts placed near the tips and tails for sharper edge engagement on firm snow. The Aspen Paulownia core blends strength and lightness, and the Titanal I-Beam adds metal damping along the center of the ski without the dead feel of full sheets. Where the W diverges from the men's design is the Stance Forward construction, which adjusts the shape, sidecut, and flex curve for women's biomechanics rather than just resizing the men's pattern. Five sizes from 153 to 173 give the lineup good coverage. The All Terrain Rocker profile pairs a high, long tip rise with underfoot camber and a medium tail rise, and a sintered base finishes the build.
Things to consider:
If you ski almost exclusively on groomers, the 88 W is the more appropriate carving tool. The new shape and rocker also feels surfier than older Mindbender W skis at this width, which is generally a good thing but takes some adjustment if you preferred the locked-in old version.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Standard sizing. Bump up for soft-snow stability or drop down for shorter, quicker carves.
