DESCRIPTION

The Kastle MX74 is a narrow-waisted all-mountain ski with a heavy frontside lean. Race-derived construction, full camber, and a beefy two-sheet titanal layup define its character on the snow, giving hard-charging skiers a precise, responsive feel that comes alive the more input you give it.

Why we like it:

The Hollowtech Evo shovel and Full Race Sidewall combination is what gives this ski its smooth, locked-in feel without any of the harshness you'd expect from a race-derived build. It tracks like it's on rails.

Who it's for:

Advanced and expert skiers who live for groomers and want frontside-tier edge grip in a slightly wider package. Strong intermediates can grow into it too.

Highlights:

Underneath the topsheet, the MX74 runs Kastle's Infini Core AMTN, with high-density poplar and beech vertical stringers laid out for all-mountain use. Two layers of Titanal flank the core, which is what gives this ski its damp, smooth, on-rails personality. The Full Race Sidewall is the same construction Kastle uses on their RX race-carving skis, and it shows in the way the MX74 transmits power from the boot down through the edge. Hollowtech Evo in the shovel is the new-for-2027 evolution of Kastle's signature core technology, extending the material reduction across the entire shovel area for lighter swing weight without giving up tip stability. The Milled Tip cleans up the entry phase of the turn, and Fast Grip Shovel & Tail shaping helps the ski engage and release predictably. With a 16.9-meter radius at the 178cm length and a 74mm waist, this is firmly a frontside-leaning ski with all-mountain-width tips and tails so you don't get caught out in soft snow.

Things to consider:

The 74mm waist means this is not a quiver killer. If you regularly see fresh snow or chopped-up afternoon conditions, you'll want something wider. The stiff flex and full-camber profile also reward technique; passive skiers will find this ski more demanding than they expected.

Fit & sizing considerations:

True to length. Pick your usual size. If you're between two lengths, sizing up adds stability for fast carves at speed.
