DESCRIPTION

Friendlier than the race-tuned MX line but still a real frontside-leaning all-mountain ski, the Kastle Sublime 83 builds around a poplar and beech wood core, two sheets of titanal, and a progressive rockered shape. The result is a ski that's lively and responsive without demanding the kind of technique the MX expects.

Why we like it:

The Sublime 83 wears its Twin Core construction on its sleeve. Alternating poplar and beech sections give it a livelier, more varied feel than the race-derived Infini Core in the MX line, and that translates directly to a ski that's more forgiving when your technique slips.

Who it's for:

Advancing intermediates and advanced skiers who want a frontside-leaning all-mountain ski that doesn't punish mistakes. Plenty of headroom for skiers growing into harder terrain and faster speeds.

Highlights:

The Sublime line builds around Kastle's Twin Core, which alternates two woods of differing flex characteristics through the body of the ski. The result is a wood core that responds differently in different zones, with poplar sections offering flex and forgiveness and beech sections supplying rebound and edge drive. Above and below the core sit two layers of Titanal, which deliver real edge grip and damping without making the ski feel locked-in. The Powerzone Sidewall is a softer-tuned alternative to the Full Race Sidewall on the MX, which is part of why the Sublime feels more playful. Hollowtech 2.0 in the shovel keeps swing weight in check, and the Milled Tip handles turn entry. Shape-wise, the Sublime 83 runs an All-Mountain Rocker in the tip with a Hook Free Tail, so the ski releases out of the turn easily and doesn't catch on chopped-up snow. With a 16.3-meter radius at the 177cm and a 130mm tip, it rolls into mid-radius turns naturally and doesn't fight you when you want to switch up your turn shape.

Things to consider:

The 83mm waist still places this firmly in trail-leaning territory; it's not the wider Sublime sibling you'd reach for on a powder day. The progressive shape also means the effective edge is shorter than the overall length, so skiers used to a fully cambered carver might find it a touch less locked-in at maximum edge angle.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Standard sizing applies. Most skiers will be happy on their usual length. Skiers who want more stability at speed can bump up; skiers who prioritize quickness in tight spots can drop a length.
