2027 Kastle Sublime 88 W Skis
SKU ASUB88W26The Kastle Sublime 88 W is a women's all-mountain ski tuned for skiers who want metal underfoot. With a poplar and beech wood core, two layers of titanal, and a progressive rockered profile, it holds an edge with confidence on firm snow and stays nimble when terrain gets variable.
Why we like it:
Two layers of Titanal in a women's all-mountain ski isn't something you see every day. Most brands save the metal for the men's version and lean on lighter constructions for the women's pair. Kastle didn't take that shortcut, so you get the full performance ceiling rather than a softened-down approximation.
Who it's for:
Advanced and expert women who want one ski for the whole mountain and aren't afraid of a little metal underfoot. Good fit for someone progressing into harder terrain who wants room to grow, or for an established skier tired of compromising between a carver and a freeride ski.
Highlights:
Kastle's Twin Core layers two different woods in alternating strips, blending poplar's flex and feel with beech's strength and rebound. It's a different philosophy than the Infini Core in the MX line, leaning into a livelier, more varied response across the length of the ski rather than the locked-in, race-feeling consistency of the MX. Above and below the core sit two sheets of Titanal, which sound serious on paper but actually combine with the progressive shape to create a smooth, manageable feel rather than an aggressive one. The Powerzone Sidewall is tuned a bit softer than the Full Race Sidewall on the MX, giving the ski a more forgiving entry into the turn. Then there's the All-Mountain Rocker in the tip plus the progressive rockered tail, which is the real personality switch. This ski releases out of the turn easily, drifts when you want it to, and floats better in soft snow than the waist width would suggest. Hollowtech 2.0 in the shovel keeps the swing weight down, so quick edge changes don't take much effort. Add the Hook Free Tail and Fast Grip Shovel and you've got a ski that's easy to maneuver in tight terrain but still locks in when you commit.
Things to consider:
The metal layup means this isn't the lightest 88 on the market, and skiers who prefer a featherweight feel for bumps and trees will notice the heft. The progressive shape also means the effective edge is shorter than the overall length. And while the Sublime line is positioned as the friendlier option in Kastle's all-mountain family, friendlier here is relative; this is still a performance ski.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Standard sizing recommendations apply. Stick with what you usually ride. Skiers who like a longer ski for stability in soft snow can bump up a length without losing maneuverability, since the rockered tail keeps the effective edge in check.
