DESCRIPTION

Salomon's QST 100 sits at the heart of the freeride lineup, a one-quiver all-mountain ski for skiers who spend more time off the groomers than on them. A full poplar woodcore, basalt and fiberglass layup, and cork-dampened tip and tail rocker profile give this ski real float in fresh snow without giving up composure when conditions firm up. It's a confident, well-rounded platform that doesn't lean too far in any one direction.

Why we like it:

The cork inlays tucked into the tip and tail rocker zones are subtle but extremely effective. They smooth out chatter in chopped-up snow without adding swing weight, so the ski stays nimble in tight spots but feels planted when you open it up. The shape also strikes a really nice balance between float and edge engagement for a ski this wide.

Who it's for:

Advanced and expert skiers who want a single ski that handles soft snow, variable conditions, and the occasional groomer lap without compromise. This is the kind of ski you take on a trip when you don't know what the snow will be doing. Aggressive intermediates ready to spend more time off-trail will also do well here, though the QST 100 wants a confident skier to get the most out of it.

Highlights:

The QST 100 pairs a full poplar woodcore with tip-to-tail basalt and fiberglass fibers, a combination that delivers a smooth, progressive flex and consistent edge grip across the length of the ski. Where the QST line really sets itself apart is the new Cork Damplifier, a single piece of cork and TPU placed inside the rocker profile at each end of the ski. It absorbs vibration and dampens chop without piling on weight, so the ski stays light and quick but feels noticeably calmer than the previous generation when the snow gets rough. The freeride rocker profile with camber underfoot blends generous tip rocker for float, a solid camber zone for hard-snow grip, and a rockered tail that releases cleanly out of turns. The redesigned shape has been tuned for more progressive turn engagement, making the QST 100 feel intuitive whether you're carving on packed snow or smearing through powder.

Things to consider:

At 100 mm underfoot, the QST 100 is a freeride ski first and a carver second. It will hold an edge on groomers, but skiers who spend most of their time on hardpack will be happier on the QST 94. On the other end, dedicated powder skiers chasing maximum float should look at the QST 106 instead.

Fit & sizing considerations:

True to length. Pick your usual size; drop a length if you prefer a quicker, more maneuverable ski, or go up if you want more stability and float in deep snow.
