DESCRIPTION

The Volkl Revolt 104 is the versatile all-mountain freestyle ski of the Revolt line, wide enough for soft snow but nimble enough to ski the whole hill switch. A wood core and a fully twinned, rockered shape give it a playful, creative personality that turns the entire mountain into a playground.

Why we like it:

The all-mountain freestyle balance is the draw, at this width it floats in soft snow yet still holds its own on firmer terrain between powder laps. The twinned shape makes switch riding and buttering feel completely natural.

Who it's for:

Advanced and expert freestyle skiers who want one ski to spin, jib, and ski switch across varied terrain. Ideal for skiers with a playful, creative style who don't want to be limited to the park.

Highlights:

The Revolt 104 rides on a multilayer wood core pressed in a sandwich construction with vertical sidewalls, a no-nonsense build that leans on shape rather than materials. Its 3D Radius sidecut blends a long tip radius, a tighter center radius, and an open tail so the wide profile stays quick and releases cleanly in either direction. A fully twinned shape and a rockered, tapered profile, almost a miniature Revolt 121, let the ski float and smear in soft snow and ride switch with ease, while camber underfoot keeps a usable carve alive. The mid-hundreds waist keeps it versatile enough for firmer snow between storms.

Things to consider:

As a freestyle-focused twin, the Revolt 104 trades some hard-snow precision for its playful, switch-friendly shape. Skiers who want a dedicated carver or a directional charger will find better options outside the freeski line.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Sizes true to length. Pick your usual size, or size down for easier spins and a more playful, jibby feel.

Q&A

Ask a question and our experts will answer.

Really enjoyed its playful nature and versatility as a freeride ski. Would make for an excellent tree ski for the east coast and daily driver out west. Forgiving yet strong and composed, the flex pattern and shape gave it a lot of capabilities for all-mountain freeride usage.

A bit more rigid than I used to be but still trying to be dynamic, smooth, and fluid with varying degrees of success. Skis on the snow, these days.

Skied at Stowe in softer groomers and more spring-like conditions.
Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
Too short in the 180 for me--I'm going 188 all day.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
The Revolt 104 is a very fun, satisfying, and playful ski experience. There's nothing offensive at all about this ski when it comes to being creative on snow. It has good weight and stability, a nice even flex, and fantastic flotation for the width. With an interesting shape and profile, this ski works well in softer snow and in the air.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
The Revolt 104 works great in weird terrain and conditions. Sure, it operates fine when it's smooth, but when the snow gets funky, the 104 comes to life. Feel free to add park or natural hits to the ski's repertoire as it's game for big jumps and tricks as well.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
The width and weight make it a bit tough for an intermediate looking for a first freeride ski. Advanced and expert skiers shouldn't have any problems having a great time on this thing.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
While it's a twin tip at heart, it's also totally acceptable as a directional freeride ski for advancing skiers.
