The 2021 Dynastar Menace 90 returns unchanged for this year, and the cool thing about it is how many different sizes are offered. While we may not carry them all, they're built on every 10 cm increment from 130 to 180. As a result, this simple wood core ski with fiberglass and twin tips will appeal to everyone from a 7-year old to a grown adult looking for a quick, fun, and playful ski for all-mountain and park applications. The cap construction keeps everything tight and cohesive and provides a good amount of energy out of the turn. In those shorter lengths, the 90 mm waist is magnified, allowing for fantastic float in a smaller size. Pretty positive camber underfoot makes for an energetic feeling, and while top speeds aren't a particular strength, the skis are easy enough to control and manipulate. Our testers raved over the quickness and fun-factor of these skis no doubt.

On the 180, Jeff Neagle points out just how fun this ski is and how that fun crosses a lot of lines. Since it's light and quick, scores of 5 out of 5 for quickness, maneuverability, forgiveness, and playfulness are not surprising. "The Menace 90 is a great ski. Relatively affordable, durable, and really good performance for a lot of skiers. It's not a demanding ski by any means, but it still feels supportive and stable when you hit higher speeds. Obviously is a great choice for terrain park skiing, although it would also act as just a fun, playful all-mountain ski even for someone never venturing into the terrain park. Cap construction differs from the 98 and makes the 90 a little easier to ski. Could be a good stepping stone ski for an intermediate or a younger skier looking to advance their skills and abilities on the slopes. Quick, agile, and a whole lot of fun to ski. I think a more aggressive skier or someone who spends a significant amount of time off-piste would probably benefit from bumping up to the Menace 98, but the 90 is still a fantastic ski and will put a smile on the face of a lot of skiers this season." With another season under its belt, we expect more skiers will catch on to the fun factor of the Menace 90.
Bob St.Pierre also skied the 180 and noted his disappointment with the lack of a longer ski, but this thing was really meant for lighter and younger skiers, and if you're looking for the 187, you should check out the Menace 98. Regardless, Bob scored the ski 5's out of 5 for quickness, maneuverability, forgiveness, and playfulness, echoing Jeff's scores. "Pretty cool ski here from Dynastar. I'm a big fan of the Menace 98, and while the 90 doesn't have quite the same heft and stability for true all-mountain skiing for a larger skier like me, it's pretty clear that the vast majority of skiers out there looking for a playful twin tip don't need that longer length and more substantial feel. Overall, this is a great choice for skiers looking to make the most out of each and every run. From the park and pipe to the bumps and trees, the Menace 90 has a ton of all-mountain fun built right in. Loves to be turned and popped around on-just a total toy of a ski." Skiing should be fun, so skis should be like toys, right?
Dynastar has done a great job expanding their freestyle skis to the all-mountain market and the Menace 90 is a prime example of that. Quick, fun, and light, the Menace 90 and all of its available lengths should be a very popular ski for 2021.
