For the 2021 ski season, Fischer has given us women's versions of the popular men's Ranger series from 2020. Actually, they aren't really even women's versions, nor are the men's skis actually men's skis. For this season, Fischer just makes skis and doesn't worry about applying a gender to them. Instead, they just give us two colors, a bunch of lengths, and let us choose, and that's pretty cool. So, you can get this Ranger 94 FR in either gray or purple, and both colors are available from 153 cm all the way up to 185 cm. These skis are designed for playful all-mountain skiing and are essentially a narrower version of the 102 FR. It's built with a wood core, Fischer's Carbon Nose, and uses their Aeroshape technology. It's playful in soft snow, has good edge grip on firm snow, and the rockered tips and tails and twin tip shape allow for just about any style skiing in any terrain you can think of. Groomers to powder, the Ranger 94 FR feels right at home in all conditions.

Alix Klein spends more time on the Ranger 102 FR, but said she liked to get on the 94 from time to time for its super playful feel. It's quicker edge to edge than the 102 and a little more agile too. Neither ski feels heavy, but the 94 feels that much lighter, which makes it incredibly nimble. It pivots and maneuvers through trees and other tight terrain like a little ninja, yet also stays pretty darn stable on firm snow. "It makes very round, responsive turns on firm snow. You can release the tail edge super easily." Alix did mention that really aggressive skiers who spend most of their time on firm snow may prefer a ski like the Ranger 92 Ti that uses a little metal and a flatter tail, but that ski doesn't feel quite as playful as the 94 FR.
Carly Monahan isn't a super aggressive skier, and for her the Ranger 94 FR had plenty of performance on firm snow. "Good edge grip and a stable feel. Feels light on your feet too. I could ski this all day in all conditions without feeling worn out." That's certainly one of the benefits of the Ranger 94 FR. It's a high performing ski and is extremely versatile for different snow conditions, and it does all of that without feeling tiring, demanding, or too aggressive. "I'd love to ski this in the trees. It's very quick, which would give me a lot of confidence in terrain like that." Skiers looking to venture off trail a little more should consider the Ranger 94 FR. It gives you relatively easy-going performance in off-piste terrain and is the type of ski someone could grow with as their ability improves.
Overall, we're psyched the Ranger 94 FR is now available in women's lengths and these two colorways. I guess we should say it's available in shorter lengths, not women's specifically, but you know what we mean. We've seen a huge range of applications for the Ranger 94 FR. From versatile all-mountain ski to east coast touring ski to park ski and just about everything in between. It's a well-rounded all-mountain ski with a playful mentality and the quality of craftsmanship we've come to expect from Fischer skis.
