For ladies looking for strong edge grip and a ton of power at a minimum of weight, look no further than the Atomic Vantage 80 Ti Women’s skis with an M10 GripWalk system binding. This is a great value and provides the skier with a firm, nimble, and precise feel on the firmest of snows. Atomic’s Prolite construction is used in this ski, and this allows them to build a ski using the least amount of materials. The end result is that you get a stiff and strong ski but with an extremely low weight. Quickness is the by-product, with the Vantage 80 ripping short to medium radius turns with a great deal of ease and precision. You should expect some good rebound and energy coming out of these turns, as the skis don’t really have too much rocker to them. The camber underfoot and the relatively flat tail hold tight to the arc, allowing you to complete a true tip to tail carve. This creates a smooth and stable character to the ski, which is great for a variety of skier levels and applications. These skis are unchanged for 2022, and they’ll keep skiers from the intermediate all the way to expert levels both engaged and happy. Light, quick, and incredibly precise, the Atomic Vantage 80 Ti women’s skis love to be on edge and in a carved turn.

Alli Ruschp skied the 151 and noted that it was short. She’d be a lot more comfortable on the 167, which produces a 15.7-meter turn radius for sure. The short ski creates a 13.6-meter arc, so the test versions that Alli tried were more akin to a wider slalom ski than a true front-side ski. Regardless, Alli was able to pick up on the fact that these skis have an incredible blend of performance and agility to them. Unsurprisingly, her highest score for these skis was a 4 out of 5 given for quickness and maneuverability. A lowly 2 for flotation is not a huge shock, and scores of 3 round out the board, showing that these Vantage 80’s do have something to offer for a wide variety of uses and applications. We’ll take these scores and the comments with a grain of salt, as the skis were too short for Alli: “Too short to really gauge but it’s chattery and noisy. Not my favorite ride of the day. Felt unstable which could have been length but the construction is also very light weight and deflects easily when in crud.” And you’ll have that from time to time, and that’s fine. The important things to hit on here are the light weight and the grip. Combine that with the softer testing conditions that we had, and I don’t think this ski got a fair shake. If you’re a skier looking for quickness and lightness but still a high-performance ceiling, you could certainly do a lot worse than these Vantage 80’s.

Lauren Lepage also skied the 151, which, like Alli, was too short for her. It’s difficult to find the radius of the ski when it’s this short, you really have to skid your turns as a result. Either way, Lauren picked up on the quickness and maneuverability of these skis, with those categories earning 4's out of 5. Torsional stiffness also got a 4, while playfulness, flotation, and versatility all found 2’s at the bottom of the scale. Lauren states that the Vantage 80 Ti W “definitely has a skier and a home, but at this length and in these conditions, I’m not it. They’re very quick from edge to edge, and incredibly light for their stiffness, so that’s a good thing for advanced skiers who are looking to rip carved turns on the groomers. Overall, it felt like a really strong and capable ski, it just wasn’t for me in this length.” Again, that is okay, and as valuable information as we can possibly get.

We’d imagine these two testers would have much different reactions on the longer length and in firmer snow, so if you’re looking for that ski to blur the line between front side and all-mountain, and don’t want something heavy, the Atomic Vantage 80 Ti Women’s skis with bindings are a fantastic option.
