The 2022 Dynastar M-Pro 90 W returns unchanged for this year, allowing another generation of ripping lady skiers to get on and enjoy the ride. Built with a hybrid core consisting of poplar wood and polyurethane (PU) material, these skis have a wonderful blend of energy and stability, creating a quick and agile ski that loves to be on edge and making some of the cleanest and roundest turns on the hill. On top of that hybrid core is Dynastar’s Rocket Frame titanal laminate. This sheet of metal is full-width underfoot and through the tail, while tapering to a point towards the shovel. This allows for easy entry into the turn, as well as great flotation and suspension in the crud. The tail is all business, holding tight to the turn and providing excellent energy in the back end of the carve. Skiers who spend most of their time on groomed runs but still want the adventure and adaptability built in will love the build and shape of these skis. While 90 is in the name, they are actually 88 and 89 mm wide per length, but that’s still wide enough for all-mountain skiing and carving for sure.

Louise Lintilhac skied the 162 and found it true to size, but perhaps a bit short for her. Regardless, she scored the ski 4’s out of 5 for forgiveness, versatility, stability, torsional stiffness, edge hold, and overall impression. 3’s were given for flotation, quickness, and maneuverability. These upper 80’s to low 90’s skis should have fairly consistent scores like this, as they’re meant to do it all reasonably well, so we’re right in line with what Dynastar intended out of this ski. Louise notes that the M-Pro 90 W is “Great for medium radius turns at medium speed. Not as stable at high speeds and didn’t want to do slalom turns. Did pretty well in the crud with the slightly wider nose. Fun for groomer cruising and busting through mild chop. Would recommend for intermediate to advanced skiers looking to go bell to bell, no matter the conditions.” That last part really sums it up—ladies looking to ski all day and not think about their skis will certainly like the poise and power of the M-Pro 90 W. Also on the 162, Nifer Hoehn wished for the 170, but I think Kristi Brown was reluctant to share. All 4’s for Nifer across the board, with the exception of 3’s out of 5 for playfulness and forgiveness, showing that she felt these skis had a more business-like personality. “These are a good contender for best all mountain women's ski for me. They are playful and nimble, but also powerful and able to handle what the mountain can give you. They like to go fast, perform well on steeps and cruise through the crud as if it weren't there. They carve well and seem to be looking forward to each turn.” Great feedback from Nifer, here, showing that even with that shorter size, the skis can still punch up a level.
On the elusive 170, Kristi Brown noted that it was a “Perfect length for me - love the Bond Style graphics.” Like most other 90’s underfooted skis, the M-Pro will not be confused for a powder ski, resulting in a low score of 1 out of 5 for flotation, but all other scores were right in the 4-5 range, with forgiveness getting the 5. 4’s for torsional stiffness, stability, edge grip, versatility, and overall impression are very nice to see. “Life is Good to Ski the M-Pro 90. Easy on the knees and easy to please. The best athletic recliner of a ski. Relax and enjoy the ride. Skiing this feels like what it might feel like being retired. Looks like money and skis as nice as kissing your honey.” Very lyric and very fun, as the playful and intuitive nature of the ski sound like they hit Kristi in the right spot.
With a bit of a front side flair, the Dynastar M-Pro 90 W is a fun-loving ski that’s easy to rip around on. The metal underfoot and through the tail make the energy out of the turn and the ski to feel alive, while the more playful shovel affords simple and intuitive initiation in any and all types of terrain and snow conditions. Well-suited for a variety of skier types, we see this ski as benefitting intermediate to advanced skiers the most, with hard-charging experts perhaps needing to temper their expectations just a bit.
