On the wide side of Fischer's FR line is the 115. These fun and playful skis love to be used in fresh, soft, and deep snow, and in that realm, they are some of the most playful and buoyant skis around. The Ranger line as a whole are some of the most fun and playful skis around, and the 115 FR takes it to the next level. Thanks to the shape, profile, and construction of these skis, the 115 FR loves to be put to the test, creating some smeary and playful turns in the process.

In the 188, these skis produce a 20-meter turn radius, which is slightly on the shorter side for a ski this wide, and this allows the skier to really get in there and make some clean and round turns. You won't get locked into the carve, though, as the rocker profile and the taper shape allows you to skid and slash around the powder. In addition, those tails do have a fair amount of splay to them, and this makes the release phase of the turn something to behold, allowing the skier the freedom and flexibility to wheelie around and smash the pillows and lumps of snow that you encounter on those deepest of days. For advanced and expert skiers who are looking for the wide ski for their quiver, the 2022 Fischer Ranger 115 FR is a fantastic choice.

Bob St.Pierre got to ski the 188, noting that it skied true to size, "but I'd like to give the 196 a try as well, just to see if that offers more stability at speed with the longer arc." Bob scored the ski 5's out of 5 for flotation, playfulness, forgiveness, and overall impression. 3's were given for stability, torsional stiffness, edge grip, and versatility. "What a cool ski with just a fun-loving personality to boot. I love the shape of these Ranger FR's, and this 115 is no different. It allows for a whole lot of fun on the hill, and when you get it in the deep stuff, watch out, because it loves to turn and smear. Very surfy and slashy, and I loved every minute of it, as long as the snow was soft. While not the best all-mountain ski, it does ski quite well for a 115, but still more of a one-trick pony." The trick that it does, though, it does very well.

For floaty freeride fun, look no further than the Fischer Ranger 115 FR. The shape, construction, and profile all lead to a strong performance level in the deep stuff, with a bit of poise for more all-mountain conditions and terrain as well. For big mountains and deep snow, it does not get a whole lot more fun and exciting than the 115 FR.
