To add power and stability, Faction incorporated XL 2.5 mm edges to give it a burlier feel, as well as full strength sidewalls for extra durability. While there may be narrower, lighter options for a dedicated touring ski, the Agent 2X combines a nice ratio of weight to strength, giving it the range of capabilities that make it such a nice versatile option for skiers who want some flexibility.

The shape and profile have a lot to do with its multi-faceted nature, starting with the 96 mm waist width. This is an incredibly useful and ideal width for all-mountain purposes, especially when you add in the rest of the shape. The 96 mm waist width is bookended by a 127 mm tip width and 117 mm tail width, which is a great combination of dimensions for a variety of terrain and conditions. The wider shovel is paired with a decent amount of rocker, which provides a nice amount of flotation and smooth turn initiation. The tail shape leans further towards the touring world, with a flatter profile and slight rocker plus a skin attachment. The moderate amount of camber underfoot balances out the more freeride-oriented extremities, giving the Agent 2X a wonderful balance of attributes.
