A top contender for high-performance freeride skis for women, the K2 Mindbender 99Ti W operates with the ultimate level of stability, power, and strength, allowing advanced to expert skiers to press on the gas pedal with force. Making a statement for the past few years, K2 decided to keep things rolling and maintain the highly successful build while giving it a facelift for the 2025 season. One of the sturdiest, most powerful skis out there, it packs quite the punch, with a hefty weight that is demanding for those who are not cut out for it. However, aggressive skiers looking to cut through just about any type of snow condition will love its burly nature. With a blend of freeride characteristics and directional power, those who prefer the more powerful side of the spectrum will find the Mindbender 99Ti W’s sweet spot.

With a sophisticated and high caliber build, it’s no wonder this ski delivers. Starting with an aspen wood core, things start off incredibly strong and smooth. Matching energy with strength, K2 incorporates their Titanal Y-Beam technology into the mix, taking a lot of the credit as far as power. Using a sophisticated piece of metal that features two prongs that extend into the tips of the ski, the forebody is incredibly reactive and precise. Putting emphasis on the sections of the ski where you want the most control, they used full width metal underfoot before tapering to a central spine in the back of the ski. Through this specific application, the ski feels less catchy in the front and slightly more playful and maneuverable than the rest of the ski. The midsection to aft of the ski is no joke, with leg strength and skill required to power this thing. On the feet of the right skier though, the level of performance that can be accessed is amazing. We are not working with a lightweight ski here, with the 166 cm length weighing in at 1887 grams, but this is where this impressive amount of stability and power comes from. Lucky enough to test these on a powder day in Vermont, Macky put it nicely: “I tend to think that most skis feel great in soft snow of this variety and depth, but the Mindbender 99 Ti was exceptionally good. I found no issue blasting through the dry snow and carrying speed through tight trees and freeride terrain in both big and medium sized turns. The ski was easy to get light and hover over the occasional trail hazard and tip it hard back into fall line in one smooth motion.”

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2025 K2 Mindbender 99Ti W

When you factor in the shaping of this ski, it becomes clear just how strong it is. At 99 mm underfoot, we’re getting a wider-bodied ski that incorporates full width metal as well. Thats a lot of ski, but given the freeride influence in the profile, a more playful side enters the conversation. The tip and tail rocker are nice and long, with not much taper or splay to speak of. More of a traditional shape with substantial sidewalls, the on-trail performance balances out the moderate rocker. An impressive carver at this width, the 166 cm length generates a 15.4-meter turn radius, which is a nice, well-rounded place to be for a variety of turn shapes and styles. It certainly performs best when making wider-shaped turns at speed but is also capable of shorter, slower turns, though it can feel slightly sluggish.

The K2 Mindbender 99Ti W rewards those who are willing to put in the work. Impressively competent in whatever the mountain might throw your way, this well-balanced, high-powered ski is perfect for skiers who are on the advanced to expert level. Worth considering the weight, its not for the faint of heart but for aggressive skiers who want a high level of performance.
