The 2025 DPS Pagoda Tour CFL 100 is a new ski that’s build and shaped to take you to the far-reaches of the alpine environments. With a new build and more of a traditional RP shape, these skis are fantastic floaters, short turners, and efficient climbers for all things backcountry. DPS has always been at the forefront of powder skiing technology and shaping, and that certainly continues into 2025. There are a few important distinctions between this Tour version and the outgoing Pagoda 100, the main one being the amount of tail rocker for shape and the new build. Skiers will get a boost in technology here with the construction with the ever-present long rocker in the shovels with very dramatic taper.

The skis start with a lightweight paulownia wood core. We see this a lot in touring and hybrid skis. The weight is beneficial for obvious reasons, using a lighter core will make each step that much easier. While used to see a full carbon laminate in the DPS Tour skis in the past, we now get a Carbon and Flax laminate. This takes some of the carbon ping and twinge out of the mix by replacing it with slightly more modulative flax. These two layers are found above and below the core to stiffen and energize the ski while keeping the weight to a minimum. Skiers will enjoy the mix of smoothness and pop out of the build here, as it takes uphill ease and pairs it with downhill fun seamlessly.

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2025 DPS Pagoda Tour 100

As a 100 mm underfoot ski, the Pagoda Tour is a very well-rounded shape and style. Skis of this width normally fare well in a variety of snow conditions and terrain, and for good reason. If the touring ski is too wide, then the weight will invariably increase. In addition, the strides can feel slightly cumbersome as the stance just doesn’t quite fit in narrower skin tracks. With the 100, you’re right in the sweet spot. Paired with the dramatic rocker profile and taper shape that generates a 15-meter turn radius, the footprint stays afloat quite easily in deeper snow. DPS has always had that flair for the dramatic, and it shines through in all their skis, including the new Carbon Pagods Tour CFL.

Skier type will vary broadly depending on preference. We’re not seeing a whole lot of casual tourers or skiers on this thing, mainly due to the price tag. It’s a pretty spendy ski, so curious backcountry skiers will likely gravitate to something more affordable, and that’s fine. Those who do know what they are looking for and are prepared to drop a dime will love the precision and quality of the new DPS Carbon Pagoda Tour 100 CFL. Ideally, pairing this ski with a true tech binding will work the best, but hybrid options are not out of the realm either. You want a ski that’s handmade in the USA, has a lot of rocker and taper, and functions well as a touring-specific ski—all of those criteria are easily met with this Pagoda Tour 100.
