2026 Salomon Stance 84

ski test sidebar

The Salomon Stance 84 continues to be an incredibly useful and value-oriented ski for intermediate and advanced skiers. This is a well-rounded all-mountain ski that operates at a high yet accessible level for a huge number of skiers. There are many skis in the mid-80's that are super high performance or very entry level. This Stance 84 blurs those lines incredibly well, offering smooth and stable performance for more advanced skiers while also being amenable to easy skiing at lower speeds.

Built with a poplar wood core, metal underfoot, and carbon stringers extending to the tips and tails, these Stance 84 skis are all there. While skis in the intermediate range can sometimes get a bad reputation as not being quality products, the Stance 84 turns that conversation on its head through the use of stronger materials and sophisticated construction. The ski tapers from sidewall to cap as it gets closer to the ends, revealing a more mobile and agile nature for bumps and trees while keeping the edges of the ski fully engaged in terms of carving and groomer performance.

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2026 Salomon Stance 84

At 84 mm underfoot, it’s very easy to see the all-mountain appeal. They use a 15% tip and 12% tail rocker profile to make the ski a bit easier than most when it comes to mixing turn shapes, styles, and terrain variations. These skis utilize sidecut measurements of 123/84/106 mm in the 177 to generate a 16-meter turn radius—great for a variety of turn shapes and styles. This makes it fun in bumps and packed out trees. The flotation isn’t awesome, but it is mobile in softer snow without being too demanding. It won’t hook up or hook into a carved turn as readily as more front side oriented skis of this width, but it will allow for more agility when the terrain gets more technical.

I would own this ski! Just so fun, playful and stable, can carve well but quick in the bumps too, all around awesome ski.I am expert skier and this ski did not hold me back at all!

There’s a whole lot of range here for skier type and application. This is a well-rounded ski that can easily go back and forth between groomers, bumps, trees, and packed out snow with confidence. There’s a lot of value here as well, as the skis go great with a range of skiers as well as terrain. We’ve found that they punch above their level when it comes to performance and they can be easy for skiers who are looking to progress.
