The 2026 Salomon Stance W 80 gets a graphic update for this year but returns otherwise unchanged. This is a fantastic ski for first time ski buyers, either as a part of a package or on its own. The value to performance ratio is amazing here, as the Stance W 80 punches way above its level. At the same time, it’s not overly demanding for beginning and less aggressive skiers—it works great on groomers and can handle some light adventurous skiing by intermediate and even advanced skiers. It’s got a lot of composure and confidence, and it’s more than happy to pass that along to the skier.

Built with a poplar wood core and Salomon’s Ti-C frame, these skis have a sturdy and smooth nature to them. On paper, the Stance W 80 is a sturdy ski, and that translates to the snow quite effectively. In addition to the single sheet of metal, the ski uses carbon stringers to add stiffness and responsiveness. This build is great for providing edge grip on firmer groomers. Since the ski is 80 mm underfoot, its main focus is to be on smoother snow, and it fares quite well in that realm. The skis are stiff enough to be supportive but are by no means overbearing, rewarding the skier with good energy as opposed to punishing them with overly demanding weight and flex.

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2026 Salomon Stance W 80

With measurements of 123/80/105 mm in the 159 cm length, the Stance W 80 produces a 13-meter turn radius. That’s pretty short, and it aligns well with the ski’s intention to be used primarily in an on-trail format. With 15% tip and 12% tail rocker, the Stance W 80 can handle some mild off-trail adventures, and it’s a wonderful mogul ski, especially to learn on. The ski will find its limits when it comes to deeper snow, but in anything firm and smooth, it works exceptionally well. There’s even a bit of taper to help the ski get into and out of turns with smoothness and ease. If you’ve ever felt like you need just a bit more help in the entry and exit phases of the turn, a ski like the Stance W 80 is just the ticket.

Ideally suited to beginner and intermediate skiers, the 2026 Salomon Stance W 80 is an easy ski with a great value. It not only appeals to budget-conscious skiers but also those who are looking for a mix of energy and simplicity. All-mountain skiing with an emphasis on front side performance is handled easily by the Stance W 80, providing skiers with the necessary poise and confidence to tackle a variety of resort-oriented conditions and terrain.
