The 2026 Salomon Stance W Pro 88 gets a new name and graphic but returns structurally unchanged from last year. The Stance W Pro 88 is an awesome all-mountain ski with loads of energy and zip, making quick work of groomers, bumps, trees, and choppy snow regardless of conditions. These are confidence-inspiring skis that work great on the feet of advanced and expert skiers. If you’re looking for a ski that sets you up for success in a variety of aspects of resort skiing, this is a high-performance tool that excels in a variety of ways.

Built with a blend of poplar and karuba in the wood core, the Stane W Pro 88 gets a fairly light start. It ends there, though, as Salomon uses a double titanal laminate to create power and smoothness. Instead of using the second and upper sheet of metal in a full layer, they cut out rectangular zones that are replaced with carbon and flax stringers. These stringers bring more energy to the ski and provide a zesty feel for more aggressive skiers. This keeps the overall composure of the ski intact while adding feedback and response to the ski. It’s pretty stiff compared to other all-mountain 88’s, so it ends up being somewhat demanding and best suited for advanced and expert skiers. Tester Annie MacDonald calls it “Very maneuverable. Floaty tip but solid cambered body that felt fairly stable!”

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2026 Salomon Stance W Pro 88

Any ski that’s 88 mm underfoot ought to be able to bounce back and forth between various conditions and terrain, and the Stance W Pro 88 does it quite well. Equally at home on groomers as it is in the bumps, this ski is easy to get up on edge and is supportive for when the conditions degrade or get challenging. It works just fine in the trees, although there is a limit to the amount of fresh snow that it can handle. Annie continues to note that it’s “Good in most all terrain.., groomers, bumps, light powder days. Stable on firm snow but playful enough and floaty enough tip for powder/ slush.” With a longer turn radius of 18-meters in the 168, this ski can switch up turn styles with ease.

Stable on firm snow but playful enough and floaty enough tip for powder/slush.

Best for advanced and expert skiers, this Stance W Pro 88 is a very well-rounded ski with knife-like performance on groomers to go along with smooth and mobile style off-trail. It’s a great mix, providing confidence and stability as well as agility and quickness. Skis like this are extremely useful for resort-oriented skiing and they end up being a nice and mindless addition to your ski day. This is the type of ski that you don’t have to think about—it simply goes where asked.
