For 2027, the Nordica Wild Belle 84 DC is a carryover model with the same shape, construction, and graphics as last year. It’s a great choice for advanced ladies who spend most of their time in an on-trail format, but who also want some width for versatility. The 84 mm waist width provides the perfect range of capabilities. Boasting the double core construction that influenced the build of many high-end Nordica skis thereafter, this advanced technology delivers a unique feel and high level of performance. Combined with a proven shape and profile, the result is a highly capable, wide frontside ski with a mix of applications. Impressively smooth and stable, whether you’re arcing a high angle turn or cruising through chopped up snow, this ski remains quiet and predictable. These skis are built with smoothness and predictability at the top of the priority list. Nordica has come a long way in a short time with horizontal layers of wood in their skis. The name of the game here is Double Core Technology. Starting the trend of this highly effective construction element, we now see it used in top-end skis including Steadfast and Dobermann. Creating a sophisticated, well-balanced feel, Nordica’s Double Core technology features a shock-absorbing pulse core that is embedded between two wood core layers. Where other companies use vertical stringers of wood to create their laminate, this process uses two horizontal layers of wood to create a particularly unique feel. These two thinner laminates are placed horizontally in the mold of the ski, with the center layer consisting of the pulse core. With additional fiberglass on top and on the bottom, the result is a relatively lightweight ski that delivers exceptional energy matched with dampness. In the 156 cm length, we’re weighing in at around 1600 grams, which is a pretty light weight for a powerful frontside ski. Tester Lauren Morton states that “This girl should be given more credit. She’s light and playful and was happy to hold an edge at medium speeds. This is an all mountain ski for someone mostly on the frontside. If you happen to venture off the side or there’s chop on the trail you’d be perfectly happy still.”

Skis in this range can vary between on-piste and off-piste but the footprint of this is more groomer oriented. The Wild Belle 84 DC fits squarely in between front side and all-mountain, and that’s a great place to be for a whole lot of skiers. Shape wise, while we’re in the front side category, the versatile shape allows it to be a part of the narrow all-mountain category as well. With plentiful camber underfoot and through the tail, we do get slight rocker in the shovel, and while it certainly doesn’t fall under the floatiest of skis, it does offer some. We also get more width in the shovel, with 133 mm in the tip, which helps in the soft snow as well as upon initiating a turn. At 84 mm underfoot, this low 80s width range is a nice place to be for on-piste performance, as well as all-mountain versatility. Generating a 12.8-meter turn radius in the 156 cm length, this ski loves to make quick, energetic turns, whether you’re in tight terrain or arcing on a groomer. Tester Vanessa Przybylo states: “My first impression of the Nordica Bell was that they felt quite damp and smooth, with a quiet ride. There was not a ton of detectable camber or rebound “pop,” but they offered solid edge hold and a very secure, lockedin feel through the tail, especially when I finished the turn. Even though I was on the 162 cm length, they felt longer on snow and stable. Due to the waist width, it struggled in crud and granular snow. They are relatively easy to ski for their performance.”
