SkiEssentials Annual Quiver Check: Episode 7 - The Matt Stromecki 2025 Edition
Welcome to my personal mid-100 mm freeride comparison or I guess quiver check! As my first appearance on the “What’s In Your Quiver?” series, I hope to bring a younger generation perspective to the series and offer people of my skiing style and age some insight into what I like to ski and why I choose to ski it.
As you can tell, I have a specific genre of ski that I generally gravitate towards. Although similar to one another, each ski is vastly different from the others in terms of character, application, performance and snow-feel so I hope this helps people avoid analysis paralysis when trying to decide between skis in this category. In terms of boots, the same story applies with hybrid touring boots. I find these boots intriguing due to how they are supposed to offer the most versatility you can get with a ski boot and each manufacturer has their own way of trying to accomplish the same goal, uphill efficiency and downhill performance. Although a lot of my ski selections may be redundant, I do feel that each of these skis and boots hold a very intentional place in my quiver. Enjoy!
