For 2026, Atomic has incorporated the versatility and soft snow performance of the wider Maverick 105 CTi to create a more refined and friendlier 96 CTi. Featuring a softer shovel and added carbon, this ski is well suited for all-mountain exploration and offers improved agility in trees, bumps, and technical terrain compared to its predecessor.

The 96 CTi is a friendly ski that’s easy to get along with – that said, it’s best for advancing intermediate skiers on up to experts thanks to it’s emphasis on soft snow and off trail performance.

Highlights:

All the tech from last year’s well-received Maverick 105 CTi trickles down the the narrower skis in the Maverick lineup, and the 96 CTi benefits from better soft snow handling and a more responsive, intuitive ride. These enhancements are largely due to the widened and softened HRZN 3D tips, which make turning and floating in softer conditions much easier, as well as a reworked profile with more tail rocker for added quickness in powder. The swap to a denser wood core and the inclusion of carbon adds energy and suppleness to the ski’s flex profile, resulting in a lively yet accessible feel that appeals to a broader spectrum of skiers.

Things to consider:

Aggressive skiers who are precise and powerful will find the limit on the Maverick 96 CTi on groomed terrain, as the softer shovel tends to chatter a bit at very high speeds. This ski favors quick, short-to-medium length turns over long, fast GS-style turns.
